Back in Blogland

I know I have been out of the blog world for some time but I am back!!! We have been super busy getting Dalton's room ready for his new Cars room. I'm going to share some pictures of the progress. Papa has finished building his lightning mcqueen bed and now it is in our garage waiting for mommy to paint all of the good stuff on there. It was brought over on Monday night and I was studying for a test that I had last night so starting tonight I will be focusing now more on finishing up the room so we can get him sleeping in his bed rather than on a pallet on the floor.Dalton already loves his new bed. As soon as he saw it coming off of the truck his face was super excited and he wanted to climb in it.Right now we have it elevated off of the ground so I can "detail" the car before bringing it upstairs to his room. It's just easier than it sitting directly on the floor. I think papa did a wonderful job. The tires actually spin which Dalton loves playing with and there are acutal brake lights and head lights on the car along with the grill you can see in the picture. We got Dalton's sheet set now we just have to get his new mattress because he only has a crib one and this is made for a twin and the comforter and he will be done!!!
I just hope he realizes this is for sleeping not playing:):) I have a hunch I will be hearing him laugh and play while he is supposed to be sleeping sometimes. We're still looking for a little steering wheel to put behind that plate Dalton is holding onto so he can "drive" his bed.
Since we are redoing his room into a cars room we really wanted to do something neat with his furniture in the room. This is a picture of him sitting in his new dresser drawer. Can you guess what we are doing to his dresser?? I am still priming and painting it right now so when I'm done I will be taking pictures of it so you can see. It already looks amazing so I can't wait to see it all done. Here is what it looked like before along with pictures from Dalton's nursery....

This was the dresser we got him for his nursery but it just isn't quite cut out for the new Lightning Mcqueen room so see what we do with it when it's all finished sometime probably next week.
There is a special story with the football piggy bank on his dresser. HE picked this one out over the blue one that mommy wanted to get him back when he was 9 months. We held them both out and asked him which one he wanted and this is the one he grabbed. That's the Pooh Bear humidifier that he says goodnight to every night and the reason he loved pooh bear so much at Disney World. This was above his dresser in the nursey and it's a picture that we had made when Dalton was 8 weeks old and we took him to Gavleston. We need to get a new one now for this year before 2009 ends.
One of my favorite things in his room is the footprints poster. I had been wanting this story somewhere in his room since the day I found out I was pregnant and my nana got this for me when Dalton was around 6 months old. I just love this story and when I was young it used to really help me when I was having a bad day I would just read this story and all my fears and anger used to pass.
There's a little mirror that you can see on his changing table that he would always look into when he was very small and we would say that was his friend "bob" and he would talk to him while mommy was changing him. Gammy is the one who created "bob" and it worked out really well when we would change him and would crack us up too. After about four months all he wanted to do was put the little straps to hang it up in his mouth but he still liked looking at himself while he was eating them:)
That is Dalton's quilt to his bedding that is hanging above his changing table. It is WAY to hot down here for him to have ever used that thing so I wanted to display it in his room and got this idea from another mom that did it with her daughters quilt and it was just adorable.
Dalton has a wall of family photos so he can see everyone that loves him very much every morning and he also has his little plates of Jesus with the little children and an angel to watch over him. Nana always brings Dalton and shows him the one plate and tells him about how Jesus said let the little children come to me.
I wanted to get some pictures of Dalton in his nursery things I should've done when he was smaller but I decided to before we took all of his baby furniture down which was a little too late. Here he is showing how he likes to try to BREAK his crib.
This was his favorite little toy and he loved to watch the rainforest while he had his sleepless nights when he was little. This was a big help when he couldn't sleep because of a stuffed nose or because he was hungry. Grandma and Grandpa got this for him when he was first born.
Here's my little turkey acting silly in his crib. I told him to show me how he lays down to sleep and this is what he did hahaha.
This glider is one of Dalton's favorite things in his room. One day I went downstairs and asked Chantz where is Dalton he was like omg you left him upstairs and we both went up there to see where he was. He was no where to be found and his bedroom door was shut. We slowly opened the door and in there he was sitting here rocking himself trying to go to sleep. It was the sweetest thing but as soon as he saw us he popped up and got a second wind of energy so I couldn't grab a picture of him.
While we were taking Dalton's crib apart him and Aggie thought it was wrestle time on Dalton's mattress.
Aggie looks so small even in these pictures to me when I see how big he is right now. We will be taking our family pictures this Saturday and we are attempting to bring him with us but only if he understands to sit and stay before then because I just know with all those people he will run like a maniac. Wish us luck and then you can see how big he's getting!!!

Another similarity! :) The Footprints story is my all-time favorite!!!! When I was a little girl my mom read it to me from a book she had and I have since had to buy anything that has that story!!!!

Dalton's car bed looks like it's going to be awesome!!! I love his expression in the third pic.

Great character pic of you two, I've been wanting to get one done with Logan but we haven't had the opportunity yet.

That's so cute how he was rocking himself to sleep in his chair - awe!!!

That's wonderful you have recorded all of this info about his room so that he can see it when he's older now that it's changing.

We'll probably decorate Logan's room around his 2nd birthday. That is so funny, we keep going back and forth about whether to start trying for baby #2 in April 2010 (because that's the month Logan turns 2) or wait until the summer for another spring baby that would put them exactly three years apart. It's just the problem of not knowing how long it will take. . .wish I could know for sure, haha!!! That would be so cool if you & I got pregnant the same month! I agree, I wish we lived closer so we could hang out and our kids could play together! I'm so glad we've become friends in the blogosphere, it has been nice getting to know you :)

Thanks so much for your comment about Cosmo, I really appreciate you guys saying a prayer for us!!!

And I think Logan's night terrors have stopped again. . . hopefully. . . we'll see. . .

What a fun idea! I LOVE that car bed. Dalton is a lucky little boy that will enjoy his bedroom for years to come. I need to keep your fun ideas in mind for the future little Ebrights. ;)
