Christmas Parties

I will probably only post one other time this week and that will be our Christmas Cards. I have to go pick them up tonight and then I'll post them. I know we're suuuuper late I have just been way behind this December. Luckily most of them don't have to travel very far and they should make it by Christmas Eve still:) The past two weekends we have had our Company Christmas Parties to go to. Chantz's was at Incredible Pizza back on the 11th and I am so glad they had it there. Dalton had a BLAST!!! I love seeing all of the kids play together and have a ton of fun. Santa even came to visit and had a present for each of the kids. We just gave Dalton his because we knew he wasn't going to go near Santa for anything hahaha even if it was a toy. The new First Sargent gave all of the kids a free $10 game card and then we bought another $20 one for Dalton so he had a blast playing. We did bowling, glow in the dark putt putt, a ton of rides in kiddie land, the merry go round and of course all those games that let you win lots of tickets. At the end of the night Dalton won a blow up guitar and a sponge bob football with his tickets;) And some sweet little boy that was there won him a TON of dinosaurs to play with.

Then this past weekend on Saturday was my Company Christmas Party. I work with the assembly department so we all decided to have ours at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. Let me tell you if you have never eaten there, DO it's amazing!!!! And Dalton behaved wonderful because they cook right in front of you so he watched everything that was going on. Some of our employees couldn't make it but we still had a great time.
Then on Sunday we had to chill out and do some of my school work for my mini mester class. Dalton was chilling in his pajamas when I realized, he was sticking my keys in the gas on/off switch!! He thought it was a key hole hahaha.

I love how he's standing so proud of himself like look mommy I did it!!! Later that day Brittany came to see us because she's in town and we were SOOOOO happy to see her. Her and I have been best friends for years and she moved to California right after we graduated high school and can only come down so often. But the good news is she's home for a whole week!!! And she just told us that she's moving home permanently in less than a year!!! So we are super happy about that.

I thought I would show you just the mantel in our house right now for our Christmas decorations. I'll show you both our living room and dining room trees hopefully this week before Christmas, HA!!!

These Mister and Mrs. Santa Clauses are VERY OLD they are like 40 years old and I even had to glue back Mrs. Clause's poor head because it had fallen off in the bin this year. My grandmother made these a very long time ago and I hope they can stay in tact so I can one day give them to my kids.

This of course if my FAVORITE Christmas decoration in the house!!! I just love that little Santa, he's so darn cute I could eat his cheeks!!

I didn't do too much this year I wanted to keep it simple and the reason there are twigs on one side and not the other is because my little baby boy grabbed them out and ran around the house with them laughing:):) I just took this picture before I had put them back so it looks silly.

This is my favorite new decoration this year. It's a night light that has this glitter goo that moves around in the snowman and I love to just watch it.

I got to eat lunch with this little man today and it was a WONDERFUL surprise!!! My mom is watching him this weekend since school is out so she brought him to cracker barrel by my job so I could get to eat with him too!!! He loved sitting in these BIG rocking chairs!!!

Back in Blogland

I know I have been out of the blog world for some time but I am back!!! We have been super busy getting Dalton's room ready for his new Cars room. I'm going to share some pictures of the progress. Papa has finished building his lightning mcqueen bed and now it is in our garage waiting for mommy to paint all of the good stuff on there. It was brought over on Monday night and I was studying for a test that I had last night so starting tonight I will be focusing now more on finishing up the room so we can get him sleeping in his bed rather than on a pallet on the floor.Dalton already loves his new bed. As soon as he saw it coming off of the truck his face was super excited and he wanted to climb in it.Right now we have it elevated off of the ground so I can "detail" the car before bringing it upstairs to his room. It's just easier than it sitting directly on the floor. I think papa did a wonderful job. The tires actually spin which Dalton loves playing with and there are acutal brake lights and head lights on the car along with the grill you can see in the picture. We got Dalton's sheet set now we just have to get his new mattress because he only has a crib one and this is made for a twin and the comforter and he will be done!!!
I just hope he realizes this is for sleeping not playing:):) I have a hunch I will be hearing him laugh and play while he is supposed to be sleeping sometimes. We're still looking for a little steering wheel to put behind that plate Dalton is holding onto so he can "drive" his bed.
Since we are redoing his room into a cars room we really wanted to do something neat with his furniture in the room. This is a picture of him sitting in his new dresser drawer. Can you guess what we are doing to his dresser?? I am still priming and painting it right now so when I'm done I will be taking pictures of it so you can see. It already looks amazing so I can't wait to see it all done. Here is what it looked like before along with pictures from Dalton's nursery....

This was the dresser we got him for his nursery but it just isn't quite cut out for the new Lightning Mcqueen room so see what we do with it when it's all finished sometime probably next week.
There is a special story with the football piggy bank on his dresser. HE picked this one out over the blue one that mommy wanted to get him back when he was 9 months. We held them both out and asked him which one he wanted and this is the one he grabbed. That's the Pooh Bear humidifier that he says goodnight to every night and the reason he loved pooh bear so much at Disney World. This was above his dresser in the nursey and it's a picture that we had made when Dalton was 8 weeks old and we took him to Gavleston. We need to get a new one now for this year before 2009 ends.
One of my favorite things in his room is the footprints poster. I had been wanting this story somewhere in his room since the day I found out I was pregnant and my nana got this for me when Dalton was around 6 months old. I just love this story and when I was young it used to really help me when I was having a bad day I would just read this story and all my fears and anger used to pass.
There's a little mirror that you can see on his changing table that he would always look into when he was very small and we would say that was his friend "bob" and he would talk to him while mommy was changing him. Gammy is the one who created "bob" and it worked out really well when we would change him and would crack us up too. After about four months all he wanted to do was put the little straps to hang it up in his mouth but he still liked looking at himself while he was eating them:)
That is Dalton's quilt to his bedding that is hanging above his changing table. It is WAY to hot down here for him to have ever used that thing so I wanted to display it in his room and got this idea from another mom that did it with her daughters quilt and it was just adorable.
Dalton has a wall of family photos so he can see everyone that loves him very much every morning and he also has his little plates of Jesus with the little children and an angel to watch over him. Nana always brings Dalton and shows him the one plate and tells him about how Jesus said let the little children come to me.
I wanted to get some pictures of Dalton in his nursery things I should've done when he was smaller but I decided to before we took all of his baby furniture down which was a little too late. Here he is showing how he likes to try to BREAK his crib.
This was his favorite little toy and he loved to watch the rainforest while he had his sleepless nights when he was little. This was a big help when he couldn't sleep because of a stuffed nose or because he was hungry. Grandma and Grandpa got this for him when he was first born.
Here's my little turkey acting silly in his crib. I told him to show me how he lays down to sleep and this is what he did hahaha.
This glider is one of Dalton's favorite things in his room. One day I went downstairs and asked Chantz where is Dalton he was like omg you left him upstairs and we both went up there to see where he was. He was no where to be found and his bedroom door was shut. We slowly opened the door and in there he was sitting here rocking himself trying to go to sleep. It was the sweetest thing but as soon as he saw us he popped up and got a second wind of energy so I couldn't grab a picture of him.
While we were taking Dalton's crib apart him and Aggie thought it was wrestle time on Dalton's mattress.
Aggie looks so small even in these pictures to me when I see how big he is right now. We will be taking our family pictures this Saturday and we are attempting to bring him with us but only if he understands to sit and stay before then because I just know with all those people he will run like a maniac. Wish us luck and then you can see how big he's getting!!!

Some Halloween decorations

So I thought it would be fun to break up the Disney posts with a little Halloween decoration post. These decorations are in our family room and on the bar that faces the family room in our house. I went to my mom's house a couple of weeks ago and asked her if I can have some of the decorations that I remember growing up as a kid with decorating and since she's just the best mom ever she gave them to me. Not all of them, but the ones that I really loved as a child and have memories with. So now I have all the ones that we bought as a new family Chantz, Dalton and I and then some from my childhood and I hope that Dalton gets to enjoy all of these just as much as I did growing up.

This is on our front door hahaha it's true too. Our life is like a circus it's always fun and crazy like a nuthouse:):) We got this at kirklands I love that store!!!
This is on the wall right beside the front door and this was one that my mom gave me. She used to have a witch one just like it but that one got lost in a move so I only have the scarecrow. I think he is just adorable!!!

These pots I bought last year and I keep them out year round but my grandma found these really neat fall looking fill ins that I just love. I have branches in there too that I have all year because they are the same color as the couches but you really can't see them right now.
They have these little orange gems that are just so festive. The redish branches are the ones that I keep out all year.
Now to the bar. These are in between my two place settings. These cute little pumpkins I got at Kirklands. I still need to get bar stools for here and then I will show you the whole bar with the place settings. The place settings are these leaf bowls that I got at Walmart and I'm so happy because I have bowls that match perfect that I bought at JCPennys last year for 75% off.
This little guy is sitting right on the corner of the bar next to the place settings. I got him this year around the time that we moved into the house.
This is above our fireplace. The Harvest Time sign was one from when I was small that I got from my mom. We used to have gorgeous brick columns in our house growing up and my mom used to have all this stuff on there and it matched our brick fireplace that you could sit down on a step in front of. I guess the new thing is these tile fireplaces and there is no seat which I do miss from the house I grew up in. The two candles that are rounded with shattered glass I bought at Kohls and the leaves and turkey and scarecrow I got at Walmart. The little tea light bags I got from my mom there used to be four of them but two broke over the years.
Here is more of a distant look so you can see more of the room. The little candle sconces on the wall to the right of the fireplace well there is another one on the other side of the wall of windows right there to the right and I have a little white candle that I tied a really pretty orance lace bow on to be festive. They look really cute!!! I just didn't take a picture.
I'm going to show one side of the entertainment center at a time. Most of this stuff is things that I grew up with and my mom let me have them finally. The scarecrow at the bottom on the wreath I made that at church trunk or treat when I was in elementary school and then the picture frames, the candle on the bottom shelf and the thanksgiving boxes that are on the top shelf are all new. The black frame in the middle shelf now has our family picture with pluto and it looks really cute!!!
This is above the tv. The two pumpkins were ones I grew up with again there were three but one broke and the one on the right is a face too she's just squinting her eyes and you can't really see it in this picture. The turkey was my mom's too and then I had the two glass jars with candles and I added the spider tape to run around the top of them instead of ribbon cause I thought it was really festive and cute.
On this side the two treat bags on the bottom along with the witch head down there was my mom's and the two things behind I bought at kohls. The little black thing in the back right on the bottom was what I wanted to put candy corns in but Dalton is a little too violent with this so she stays in the back where he can't reach :) The pumpkin on the top shelf is something that is very special to me because it's something that was my parents when they first got married. The scarecrow on the top shelf with the basket and the little thanksgiving figures in the middle were my mom's and the candle holders up top I had and I just added the candles with more spider tape. The picture of the three of us in black and white is now a cute one of Dalton with pumpkins to make it more festive.
Finally here is a picture of the whole entertainment center. I know it's a little dark that's why I did the individual sides too so you can see them really well. Hope you guys enjoyed seeing the decorations and that they helped put you in the holiday spirit even though it's hot outside still haha.

Fall Decor Preview

Update: 10/1 Southern Hospitality was doing a linky on fall so I decided to link up this post with it. You can view all the great fall links here. They have some great ideas for fall decorating!!!! I should hav eput more of my fall decorations pictures but I haven't had time to upload them to the computer yet...sorry but stay tuned they will be here soon!!!

I thought I would put up pictures of our fall decorations in the breakfast room so you can see a sneak peak at the start of our fall decor in the house. This is the room that has the least amount of fall decorations in it but I will show you what it looks like to get started with the season. The only decorations are on our breakfast room table and in the plant to the side of the table in the corner. I don't have pictures of it but there's a little scarecrow sitting in the plant.

My centerpiece for the table is usually a black bowl filled with grapes and some other fruit. Our kitchen which connects to this room is chef themed and this room is wine themed so I thought the bowl with grapes and oranges goes perfect. During fall I put the fruit in this pumpkin bowl. I got it at Kohls during christmas season so it was only like 2.50 instead of 24.99. I am definitely going back there this year to see what else I can pick up for cheap.
These chair covers I just bought this year because I just couldn't resist myself. My grandma has some snowman ones for Christmas and I fell in love with them last year at Christmas time so I wanted some for ours too. I will be looking for the santa ones around Christmas time but for now we have the boy and girl scarecrows.

That's all for now. I know it's a short post and not a whole lot of decor but I'm going to wait to post the rest of our fall decorations which is a ton haha until after we get back from vacation. And I've been super busy getting us packed and ready to go plus getting all my school work turned in so I won't have to worry about it while we're in Florida. Hope all of you are having a good week so far;)
