My Little "Pumpkins" and a Little Project

So I told you the other day that Aggie and Dalton's new thing is to climb together up the slide and that Aggie himself is sliding down the slide now. Well the picture of Aggie coming down the slide is way to blurry but I have some of him climbing up with Dalton.
You can't really see him in the one above but he is behind Dalton to the right you can see his head a little to the right of Dalton's shoulder and his paw is right by the orange part on the top right.
Here you can see him better waiting his turn to get up the slide haha.Dalton learned how to sit down and push himself down his slide all by himself the other day.
He loves to slide fast enough that he lands straight on his butt with his legs flying out in front of him.
He didn't want to come in to get more clothes on (no my son does not always wear just a diaper when out in the backyard haha it just seems like it in all his pictures on the slide) but it was getting colder by the minute that night so we made him put a jacket on and I just think his face is hilarious in this picture. This is the face he makes when he is mad at whatever you are making him do.
My little bugaboo in his jacket ready to go back out and show off his sliding skills some more.
Ok now for a little project I did this Friday night. I had a scarecrow that I wanted to put somewhere but I really wanted something for her to sit on that could raise her from the ground. So I bought these two unfinished boxes at hobby lobby.
I decided to paint them on all sides and top with a rusty brown color to go with the fall colors in the house.
I bought two different sizes so I could stack them and she would be on top of the top box. It would give her some lift for where I was going to put her.
Then I got some twine and hot glued it to all the corners and to the sides of the lids.
And here she is on her new seat!!!
While I was doing this project Dalton and Daddy were playing golf with his new Mickey Mouse Golf Set. I kept telling them not to hit the ball too hard but they did and boom under the stove it went.
Here they are both looking for it under the stove so they can keep playing.
Dalton's like "uh Dad can you hurry up I'm waiting patiently" hahaha. They finally got it out and were able to finish playing their game. Then we watched Ghosts of Girlfriends past together for the first time. It was a cute movie thank you Daddy for getting it for us to watch!!! Saturday we went to a Pumpkin Patch to get our pumpkins this year. We knew that we wanted to go to one this year because last year we were out on a wild goose chase trying to find one and we ended up getting lost somewhere. This year our good friend Kristy told us about one that she passes on the way home so we decided to check it out. It was adorable and we're super glad we went. When we first got there Dalton was taking a nap so he was a little out of it. I brought him over to sit in the pumpkins and he just sat down on one and was watching everything that was going on while Daddy was buying our hay ride tickets.
When he saw Daddy coming over to us he jumped up and got so excited and then he really "woke up".
My little "Pumpkin"
We wanted to get all of our activities done first before we picked our pumpkins so we wouldn't have to carry them around everywhere. Here is Dalton and Daddy on the hay ride before Mommy jumped on.
Here we all are ready to get the show on the road.
As soon as the hay ride started Dalton got excited. Dalton loves cows and when he saw them he said "WHOA" really loud:):)
The Hay Ride was actually alot longer than I thought it was going to be. It took us all around the land and we saw SO many Christmas Tree farms growing getting ready for the next couple of months. It was cute to see how small they start out and then how big they grow. When we got back from the hay ride we decided to get a snack. Daddy got a hot dog and a sprite and Dalton and I got nachos and a coconut snowcone. Dalton thought the snowcone was only for him and did not like sharing with Mommy hahaha.
There was a big turkey by where we were sitting and Dalton seemed to want to climb up there so with a little help from Mommy he got up there and was trying to ride the turkey. I guess he thought it was like a big horsey haha.
Dalton looks so tiny next to those two pumpkins!!!

Awwww and here is Dalton with his new friend he made. Him and the scarecrow loved snuggling in the chair together:) Then it was time for the train ride however we were stopped by these two HUGE moonwalk slides. Mister Dalton was trying to run and get on them as hard as he could so we decided to use our tickets for these instead of the train ride since we'd already been on the hay ride. Daddy said he got a picture of me and Dalton going down them and this was the picture. Ummm where are we Daddy? hahaha I guess we slid down too fast. Dalton was so cute when it was time to get off of them I was bringing him to the side to let him down and when he felt the ground beneath his feet instead of the moonwalk he picked his legs up because he wanted to go back on. Then he just kept trying to outrun me back to the entrance to the moonwalk while I was trying to get his shoes back on.
Sunday we decided to take Aggie to the Doggie Park in my mom's neighborhood which is right down the road from our house. I feel so bad for him because our yard is terribly small and I wish we had more room for him to run around so we took him here where he could be off of his leash and run as fast as he pleased.
Boy did he love it. And he loved interacting with all the other dogs that were there too. He played with two golden retrievers, an australian sheperd, a basset hound, a sharpe (however you spell that) and I can't remember what that massive dog was. The owner told me and she also said she weighs 80 pounds. After seeing that and knowing that Aggie was going to be over 110 pounds I just kept thinking we bought a little horse not a dog hahaha.
My little man posing for the camera.
Best Friends!!!
Our Fur Baby!!! He had such a great time and came home and napped the whole rest of the day.
Dalton did great playing with ALL of the dogs. He brought his little football and was throwing it with them and running with them all. It was so cute:-) Then we went home and carved our pumpkins we had gotten.
Dalton and I washed all three of the pumpkins to get all the filth off of them.
Dalton was playing with Daddy's while we were cutting and gutting the other two.
Here he is yelling basically telling me to hurry and do the one he has instead of taking pictures haha.
And there is his hilarious pouty look:):):):) I think it is so funny when he does this and I always say "Oh are you being a crabby" in a little donald duck voice and he just gives me this look like Mom you are NOT FUNNY!!! hahaha
Alright, they are all gutted and now we're ready to start the carving. Dalton is trying to figure out how to put the top on. He likes it better upside down because everytime I would put it back right he would come by and put it back upside down again.
Aggie was wonderful laying on the cushion where he slept to take his nap outside in the beautiful weather.
The three finished pumpkins.
Dalton's that I carved!!! It's the cutest little Monster. Half way through carving I lost the little paper so I had to eye ball it the rest of the way by the front cover. No offense to any of you that loves these but this is the first and LAST year we will do the whole carving set with the book that you have to poke the little holes and then carve or whatever. I just cut as I went I didn't even poke holes and neither did Chantz it was such a waste of time to us. It took us triple the time it usually takes us to cut our pumpkins and we do just as good when we just eye ball it so from now on it's back to the old times when they didn't have those books.
This is my pumpkin that Chantz carved for me because Dalton's was taking forever.
And Chantz's "original" pumpkin. He doesn't like to really do the whole design thing he likes them better to stick to the original design with just the happy face haha. After we carved pumpkins I went shopping while Daddy watched football and the kids slept. I got so many cute things I can't even list them all. I'm starting Dalton's new room this week so I went and got some fabric and ribbon and paint and I'll post some of the projects as the week progresses. I also made the cutest little ghosts to stand in our walkway border that are getting drenched as I type. It is pouring here like a monsoon hahaha. I hope they hold up cause they are adorable. While I was making the ghosts chantz and I looked at each other and said hmm why don't we hear Dalton......
I know he was in Aggie's new crate. When we bought Aggie this new HUGE crate a couple of weekends ago Chantz said you watch Dalton is going to think this is his new playhouse lol. I didn't believe him but this is surely what happened.
We had a super weekend and are ready for Halloween now!!! I hope all of you had a great weekend. This week holds lots of projects in Dalton's bedroom that I can't wait to get started on and we have to get Aggie's halloween costume. So we'll be busy busy busy!!!

My little Pumpkin and Our Front Yard

Dalton is now 16 months and growing bigger by the minute it seems. I swear I am going to have back problems from him wanting me to hold him, ha! Yesterday was his actual 16 month birthday and he was being in his stuck up my butt moods all day. He wanted me to hold him every five seconds and finally I just had to sit with him on the couch because I couldn't do it any longer. Now today, my lower back is killing me. I don't know how much he weighs I haven't checked but I thought it was funny how when he was a newborn and only 8 pounds I was like Oh he's so heavy I can't hold him for that long or my arms are going to fall off and now he has to be over 25 pounds and he's still wanting me to hold him. Him and Aggie are doing great they just are driving me crazy. I really feel like we're living the Marley and Me life right now. As far as housebreaking Aggie is doing great but someone by the name of Dalton is deciding that when I go to change his diaper to take off running and then pee on the floor. Aggie is horrible about chewing. In fact, if you have any hints please push them my way. He is definitely like Marley. He chewed through the cord of our stand up fan in our bedroom so now there is two pieces of cord and I swear I'm going to start buying shoes from the dollar store because he has eaten almost every single one of my heels at least one out of the pair. Here is a picture of both of them looking at me like who us we are not bad at all.

One thing that they are is very sweet to each other. Aggie plays with him all the time and lets him lay on him and kisses his hands and feet and Dalton gives Aggie kisses and has to always lay next to him on the floor when taking a nap with his hand around him instead of on the couch or bed. Dalton started learning how to sing this weekend. Yesterday Dalton and I went to my mom's for dinner and he was sitting on her couch swaying back and forth saying "happy" and claping his hands. My MIL taught him the song You are my sunshine Saturday and she kept singing it to him over and over and over and then he finally starting singing happy eyes happy eyes I know he's trying to do the part happy when "skies" (eyes) are gray. It was just adorable. Poor chantz missed it because he was at home miserably sick:( I think there is for sure a stomach virus going around and he got it. I tried to keep Dalton away from him all day and kept trying to sanitize everything so we wouldn't catch it. He's also talking up a storm. He says Diego clear as day now instead of Dehdo and he says Doorah and Bob for Sponge Bob which I'm super excited about because we're staying at their hotel and going to their character breakfast in less then two weeks when we go to Florida now I just need him to learn Mickey and Minnie really quick:) He's still learning more colors and he learned GiGi and Aaron and out, no more, all done, hi, hello, and he waves by bending his little hand like he's squeezing the air now instead of just waving. He knows high five and he knows how to say bad dog and stop to Aggie. If we ask him does he want a spanking he'll shake his head no and say no in a high voice or if we ask him if he's supposed to be doing something that he's not supposed to he'll say no and shake his head no. He loves to get on his four wheeler and drive it all around the house and he's learning how to turn the wheel. He's starting to do very good with silverware instead of eating with his hands. He can eat a whole kids meal now when we go out to eat and he drinks out of the little kids cups with the straws so it's nice incase we forget his sippy cup. He LOVES to wear his shoes anywhere and everywhere. He knows how to brush his teeth all on his own now but we still aren't using toothpaste as the doctor said it's bad at this age because they swallow alot of it. And as soon as we get back from Florida we're taking his crib apart and starting to transition him to his own big boy bead!!!! Last night he slept with me in the guest room since Chantz was sick and Dalton's been having nightmares alot lately and waking up so I just had him next to me so he could feel me if he got scared and this morning I left him in there while I was getting ready. This is an extremely high bed in fact we had to get our queen bed in our bedroom that we have now when I got so far along pregnant because I couldn't even get into it anymore when I was so big and this little man got down off the bed and came into the bathroom and grabbed my legs this morning when we woke up. He didn't even fall off the bed. I kept walking by the room every now and then because I was so scared he would but when it was time to get up he just got up and got down and came to say goodmorning to me. It's so easy with him this age but it's also sad because he's growing so fast I feel like before I know it he's going to be going to school:(

Ok, I know I said I would show you before and after pictures of our front yard from two weeks ago, but I lost the before pictures. I am going to show the after pictures and try to explain best as I can what it looked like before....

Ok this is actually the front garden. When we moved in the plant in the back that is wild grass I think there was five of those and three indian hawthorn plants scattered in here with brown mulch and that's all. We added these two red cactus looking plants but one of them died so we dug them both out and my Uncle wanted the one that was still alive so he now has that one. We wanted to go with a more simpler look here so we got two yucca plants and kept the one wild grass plant. We added red lava rocks to border the garden to match our brick and put the solar lighs in. We also bordered the garden with those little plants I don't know the name of them but I see them everywhere and they have little white flower sticks that come out of them during spring and summer.

Here is a better view of the whole thing I just wanted to get a centered picture for up top. We still need something for our gutters that the water won't destroy that little area of the garden. Any suggestions???
Ok now this border of the other side of the sidewalk never existed. It was all grass when we moved in. So we had to dig up all the grass aligning it and then plant the bushes and fill in with lava rocks to match the other side. It came out beautiful, it's really hard to get pictures because I can't fit it all in the camera at one time. We were trying to get red tips for here because on the other side we face the mailboxes and the people whose properties touch it are not the greatest landscapers so we wanted something pretty to look out to from the breakfast room. Well when we went to the store these were so much more full than the red tips. I don't remember what they're called but they start with a c and they look just like red tips to me. They have the red tips but they get this really beautiful flower thing that you will see below. We didn't know what those were at first but after a couple of days they started blooming so I think it will look really pretty once they grow bigger and thicker that we can shape them and see the flowers coming out.
Anyways, that's our new front yard. It was alot of work but totally worth it. We now have a very distinct walk way instead it just looking like it's sitting there all alone and we'll have more privacy with the shrubs once they grow and it will block all of the bad views that we have from our breakfast room. We have solar lights every two bushes going on the other side of the walkway now too so that makes it very lighted and pretty at night time. I really wish I had the befores so you guys could see the difference because it's really a big transformation but I don't know what happened to them:(

A little late for Friday Garage and Backyard Day!!!

Sorry I'm late for show us where you live Friday, but it was crazy busy with the holiday. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of our garage but it's just a regular two car garage that only has a baby swing, high chair, lawn tools, trashcan and a couple of bins in it. Right now it's just serving as overflow of our attic becuase we have so much baby stuff and decorations and a place for my car to go so it's not 300 degrees inside in the mornings when I take Dalton to the babysitters. Our backyard however we have done alot of work to. When we bought our house you couldn't even walk in the backyard because the builder left it all CLAY. That's right not mud or dirt but discusting clay with EVERYTHING imaginable in it left from the construction crews. But this is what we turned it into. We had the help of my grandpa, grandma, brother and cousin. But other than that it was just Chantz and I and I can't believe that it's actually finally all done and that we're still alive. I absolutley love how it turned out. Chantz my grandpa, brother and cousin built the whole deck 10 x 20 in like four hours one day (crazy.) We bought the gazebo, chandelier and furniture and then we made the flower garden with palms in the one corner and then the other corner is a veggie garden which is growing like crazy as you can see with cucumbers, blackberries, cherry tomatoes, squash and green beans. We planted a tree for some more shade since right now there is none and then we also made Dalton's playground that's filled with playground mulch. My grandparents laid the beautiful sod that is in the back Thank you guys so much I can't believe they weren't dead when I got home becuase it started raining half way through it and they still kept going just for us. We added a little more of a tropical theme to match our palm trees by adding the lava rock border around the deck and lining it with tiki torches which help keep bugs away along with out tea light chandelier that burns citronella. And of course for winter that wonderful chiminea was chantz's christmas present last year. Well one of them:) And the grill my mom bought us for a housewarming present Thanks mom!!!
