It was Chantz's cousin Clayton Thomas who goes by Claytom that was getting married.
They had a beautiful wedding and reception. Both of Chantz's sisters were in the wedding party. Kolby the older one in the black jacket got to read one of the readings and Shelby the younger one in the silver dress got to help serve at the reception.
Dalton just loved Shelby. You can tell in the pictures he is saying "Shel" as he called her that whole night. Shelby cracked me up because she was serving the one cake that was red velvet. Well she was saving a piece for her because she likes red velvet and someone asked if they could have that piece.
Being a good hostess she gave it to them and had someone bring over this itty bitty piece of red velvet cake and they said the girl helping me serve said this is her table and she wanted me to leave this here she said it was her piece of cake. Their mom, Kolbyand I just started bursting out laughing because it seriously looked like a crumb with icing on it.
Dalton also loved his Aunt Kolby. These two girls were so sweet I can't even describe with words. Dalton of course was eating up all of the attention from his Grandpa and his two Aunts along with the rest of the family that was at the wedding.
It was so awesome to finally be able to meet them because I've been waiting for over two years now.
We all had such a good time and it really made me wish they lived closer. We got to meet Chantz's grandparents and Aunts, Uncles and cousins as well.
Shelby and Kolby's mom was so cute. She reminded me of the actress who plays the mom off of Step Brothers. I just loved talking with her and she is in the education system too which was really neat.
She was telling me about the schools out where they live and how all grades K-12 are at one school. Kolby told me her graduating class was like 20 kids and I almost fell out of my chair. With my graduating class being 800+ it was so hard for me to imagine what that would be like to only have 20 other kids at your graduation and prom and everything else.
Dalton was very good at the wedding considering it was pretty long and he needed to be sitting still and quiet. He made friends with one of the flower girls near the end in the "cry room". Her grandma and I were in there with the two of them and they were dancing and clapping together it was really cute.
The reception was really neat and I know I say that alot but I was always raised around the city and I never had anyone in my family that lived on land or had animals on their property or anything so when we go see Pops or Uncle Randy's or even where the church and reception were it is so different for me.
I never wanted to even think of living in the country but ever since I've been with Chantz I've been opened up to the whole other world where you don't have neighbors and there's peace and quiet and you enjoy the nature and livestock not the sounds of horns honking and city lights.
I have actually found that I like this alot more than I do the city life that I always thought I wanted. Dalton had such a great time dancing around with all of the little girls that were there at the reception. When they were doing pictures before cutting the cake Dalton ran over and tried to knock over the tripod and I almost died.
I was super excited being that the patriots are one of my favorite teams.
Even though we were playing them I really wanted the Texans to win because it meant that this would mark their first winning season and we would be there to mark history:):)
Well guess what!!!!
They did it!!! Good Job Texans. I can't describe how loud and crazy that game was and even more when the game was over and we were going down the escalator and everyone was going crazy saying "HOU-STON" "TEX-ANS". I am so excited and would have been more excited if the jets or the ravens would have lost so we could've been in the playoffs but that didn't happen:(
I'm still very proud of them and now I'm super excited because my Cowboys are coming here next year to play them and we are definitely going and bringing Dalton with us. He loves "Romo" as he answers when you ask him "who's going to win tonight". We are for sure a football family and it was awesome to be able to go to a professional game this year:):):) Thank you Chantz!!!!
Dalton had such a fun time playing with all of the kids. Since everyone was much older they were all poping firecrackers so Dalton stayed inside while they did those because he doesn't like them.
Right before the ball dropped in New York we went over to my Grandma's house because that's kind of been a tradition for me ever since I was small to go and see the ball drop at Nana's house. Nana and Papa and Uncle Robert watched with us while poor Ramsey Uncle Robert's dog was hiding in the closet from the fireworks.
Aggie did really well considering this was his first encounter with fireworks. We didn't have him yet on the fourth of july so we didn't know how he would do but he did amazing!!!
We had so much to be thankful for this year and some of our big highlights and memories for the year were.....closing on our house in February, Celebrating Dalton's first birthday in May, Celebrating my First Mothers Day, Adding Aggie to our family, Mommy going back to school to finish her degree, and celebrating all of our first holidays in our new home. Some of Dalton's accomplishments this year were walking, eating with silverware on his own, really talking, running, jumping, throwing, climbing, kicking, and so much more. It's so crazy to me to imagine how he was at the end of 2008 to the end of 2009. He was such a small baby at only 7 months and now he is my big boy toddler at 19 months. He has accomplished so much and I am so proud of him. Dalton you are one of the smartest little boys I know and it just awes me over and over at your will to learn and do everything you see and say everything you hear. We love you honey and look forward to another new year with you and all the many things we know you will learn in 2010.
After New Years it was hard for me to want to go back to work because I had stayed home with Dalton all that week prior to it. I had been home with him for a week and a half and it was soooo hard to leave him even though I know he loves playing at Miss Laura's house during the day.
We had fun making cinnamon rolls and this was Dalton's first time to eat them. From the pictures you can see he got the icing EVERYWHERE and wouldn't let go of the cinnamon rolls. At the end I asked him to give it to me so he shoved the whole thing in his mouth and his cheeks were sooo puffy haha.
We baked lots of things including, cake balls, cookies, oreo balls, cinnamon rolls, cakes, and biscuts. We had so much fun playing in the kitchen and Dalton really liked helping me cook every meal for that week.
He especially loved eating all of the DOUGH. I know I know you're not supposed to let your 19 month old eat raw cookie dough but I couldn't get it from him in time and then once he tasted it boom it was done. I had to hurry and make the cookies and put them in the oven before he could get them:)
On the way there during the ride Gigi was trying to teach Dalton how to say "Cranky Randy" to his Uncle Randy and Dalton learned how to say them seperate but not together but he did say it to him when we got there haha.
The kids had such a great time playing together. Dalton decided to bring his elmo doctor kit which is something he got for Christmas from us and was something I really didn't think he would even want but he used to like Elmo so I went ahead and bought it. Now since then he's carried it around everywhere and says "ehmo".
Kade just cracks me up everytime that we are spending time with them because he's so protective of Dalton. He's the best big brother and watches out for his little brother and sister great and it's so cute that he does it for Dalton too:)
Kole is 9 months older than Dalton and Dalton is 5 months older than Kyelar so it's really cute to see them all play together. I love when they all use their baby language and they can all understand each other but us adults have NO IDEA what they're saying haha.
Kyelar got a play cell phone for Christmas and Dalton and Kole were making phone calls to their girlfriends on there.
Gigi went outside to smoke and that was it Dalton was going outside no matter what any of us said ha. Well of course when one goes they all fall in line. Then Kade wanted to go so then Kole wanted to go and we wanted Kyelar to go too so she wasn't left out and before you know it we were all outside lol.
Of course the little boys wanted to go and see the cows that were in the one pasture next to Pop's house.
Uncle Randy told them to stay away though because there was a mean bull with them who was having some anger issues earlier that morning and he didn't want them getting hurt. We all went to eat at this yummy place that I can't remember the name of. When we were done we came back to Pop's house and opened presents.
This is what we got Kole for Christmas. This little boy LOVES horses and anything that has to do with them. Well since Randy and Stephanie's house is like Toys R Us lol we remembered we hadn't seen one of these over there so we knew he would like it. Well we were right HE LOVED IT.
Kole rode his horse all around the house until he was so pooped that he ploped down on the floor.
We love coming to Pop's house because this is where Dalton started walking. He just loves Pop and we thought it was awesome how he waited and waited and waited until we went to go see Pop with him for the first time and that's when he chose to walk. He loves sitting on his chair with him but we have to watch if he pushes the buttons and messes things up.
Kade had some game system that I can't remember what he told me it was but it was so neat. I know it wasn't a psp because I asked him that and he said no it's some new game thing they have for younger kids and he got a new game from Stevi and Brandon that was sponge Bob. Hmmm Dalton's favorite so Dalton watched sponge bob run around and kept saying "ponge bob" as Kade was playing.
Stevi and Brandon had bought all of the kids these little light up things and knowing how Dalton is you can guess that that is all he wanted to play with for the remainder of our stay there. (I mean besides his "bootball" that is permanetly attached to him lol)
We all went back outside because the kids wanted to go back out there and Dalton played with Coonie, Pops dog.
The cows came back over and Uncle Randy had to steer the kids away from them again.
We all had fun walking around and letting the kids run together. That is one thing that really made me want land now it's not like you have to say no don't go into the street because the street is WAY far away so you just have to keep a close eye but not hover over them.
There were these shells all over Pop's land and I kept asking Chantz what are those.
Well.....those were pecans. Chantz was picking them up and putting them in his hand with a rock and cracking them. I didn't know how to do that so I was just waiting for him to crack them so I could eat them haha.
I had never had fresh pecans that had just fallen right off of a tree like that before but let me tell you they were DELICIOUS!!!
We were trying super super super hard to get a picture of the four of them walking holding hands towards pops house but unfortunately when you have three under the age of three it's a little hard to do that.
Kade was great in helping us try to make them do it but Kyelar and Dalton wanted to go the other way and Kole was so scared of Coonie getting him that he didn't want to do it period. I think the one that we got was pretty good though with the circumstances:):)
There is kind of like a tradition in Chantz's family that every boy has been pictured on this tractor that's in front of Pop's house. We decided to get all of the kiddos on there for a pic.
This one we did have success with:):):) They may not all be smiling but everyone is looking at the camera and they all look adorable!!!
Dalton was more interested in playing football outside than anything. It was really sweet how him and Kyelar wanted to play it together:)
One thing that did kind of shock me was he wasn't very open to sharing with them and he always shares at his babysitters house so I don't understand where this was coming from.
It was very hard to take pictures of him because he was so into taking off running with his football. The cutest thing and I am glad I kind of got a picture of it is when he take off with the ball he pulls it up to either side alternating if that makes sense so he will be running and jerk it to the left and then jerk the football to the right and act like he's running for the gold medal:)
It's super cute in person and I'm going to have to get videos of him doing it becuase his face is just priceless.
Originally we were going to buy Keylar these pink and camo ugg boots for Christmas but we didn't know her size. She already had some tan ones that she was wearing that day which were SOOOO CUTE!!!
She also for the FIRST Time ever since she's been born came over to me and hugged me without me even asking her. I was sitting there on the floor talking and I feel someone come over and put their arm around me and I thought it was Dalton, but when I looked up it was the little princess:):)
I was super excited to take pictures this day because I officially got my new camera and Chantz had bought me the sd card for Christmas so I actually got to use it:):) I can not believe that the one he got is a 4GB and the one I had on the other camera was a 1GB and held already over 2000 pictures and still had room. With this one I won't need a new one until Dalton's like in elementary lol. Thank you Chantz. He did very special things for me this year for Christmas.
He bought me the necklace that I really really really wanted and was pretty sure I wasn't getting. It was an "ornament" on the tree though and didn't get it until all of my other presents were already opened. It's the heart with diamonds from Helzberg but it has the mother holding her baby inside the heart and I really wanted it when I saw it. I'm not really that into jewelry and usually only wear my ring but this year I really wanted some nice jewelry that I could wear everyday so I got my necklace that I wear EVEYRDAY!!!
Speaking of Jewelry....while we were at Pop's I opened my present from Stevi and Brandon and it was a charm. Well I had asked for a charm bracelet from Chantz (that I had been asking for a while for) and didn't get one.
So I said Chantz see I even got a charm I really need a bracelet now.
He tells me ok well maybe next year and Stevi said well mom told me you had one I'm so sorry.
So we all went back to our house to open presents from Gigi and Paul. They had gotten Dalton an easel and we didn't want to have to sit in the car with that the whole way home lol.
I go to open my presents and look at what Dalton's holding....a James Avery bag.
I look inside and there is two charms and then I'm really upset because I still can't use them. Well I look in the other little bag and it's a....CHARM BRACELET!!! I was so excited that I had finally gotten one and I could now use all of the charms I had gotten.
We were having a charm engraved for Gigi for Christmas however it didn't get done in time because there was a deadling due to the overwhelming amount of people purchasing charms.
Thankfully her pictures did come in on time though. Dalton had so much fun opening her presents because they were wrapped in Dora the Explorer paper.
And then when he saw what they were he was thrilled and had to show her who every single person was in the pictures.
The other funny thing that happened while opening presents was Dalton was hiding under the tree and Gigi went to go underneathe to find him and she ended up getting stuck trying to find him and get a picutre and he came out the other way behind the chair. Brandon was laughing so hard at her laying under the tree and said get a picture of Gina under the tree trying to get a picture of him when he 's not even under there anymore hahaha. It was really funny and we were all laughing really hard.
