Halloween Critter Weekend

Our Halloween weekend started on Friday. Chantz surprised us when we got home from work on Thursday evening however I had already put a sick day in because Dalton's babysitter was still sick and I wasn't expecting him home until Friday evening. So we all got up Friday morning and went to go get my psychology study guide that I needed for the class. We got some really bad news by them saying they didn't sell it seperately it was only sold in a pack with a new textbook. Well I had already bought a used book back at the beginning of the semester (this class was a late start class and was only 8 weeks long instead of 16) So now they tell me that I can sell the book back to them for half price and rebuy the whole package. Ummmm no. That's just plain money I'm throwing away. I was scared about taking this class from this teacher anyways because I've heard she is extremely difficult so I decided I would drop it and get my money back for both tuiton and book and just retake it next semester with an easier teacher. Plus then I would know to buy the "whole package". Well I went to go drop the class and then she tells me ok your done and your balance is 0.00 WHAT!!! I'm supposed to be getting money back for this class. She tells me that since it's so late in the semester that I don't get anything back. I explained to her that this class had only been in session for like 8 or 9 days and she said well it's a 7 day maximum with late start classes. WELL THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THAT BEFORE I DROPPED IT!!! Uhhh I was so mad at this point I just threw out the window a whole class and a book now. So my Friday started out really bad....but like always everything always ends good!!! So we decided to go grab a bite to eat and go home and restart the day haha. When we got home I was reading stuff about education degrees and there is a program that I can finish my accounting degree which I am half way finished with and was throwing away a ton of money by switching to education and still be able to teach any grade any subject. So since I didn't need psychology anyways for my accounting degree I think that's the way we're going to do it. It has more benefits by me doing it this way and I am relieved that I only have two classes to deal with now as the best time of the year is approaching. When I had psychology too I just kept thinking omg it's going to be all school work for the next month through thanksgiving and then it'll be ok but now I can enjoy the whole month of November and relax instead of stress!!! After the good news, Aggie and I laid on the chair a little while and Dalton and Daddy played with cars on the floor. He drives me crazy sometimes with jumping and digging but other than that he is just like a big baby and he STILL thinks he is a lap dog as you can see haha. Then we went to go see the progress of Dalton's car bed and it's coming along just amazing. I still can't believe that my grandpa has that much talent. He's still trying to find a steering wheel to put at the end of it so Dalton can pretend he's driving:) After we saw the bed we went with him to home depot to buy some bolts he needed. While we were there we bought new blinds for our breakfast room, staircases for our second attic to be built the next day, some molding and some spray paint. When we got home Chantz installed the new blinds and they look beautiful. Before we had the cheap small vinyl ones but now we bought the big 2" wood ones and it really makes the room look alot bigger. At this point it was getting dark outside so Dalton and I went to go light our pumpkins outside. Poor Daddy's had already rotted AGAIN. Last year his was the first to rot and mold and this year it was the same thing. I told him next year we will pick out his pumpkin for him so maybe it will be different hahaha. So we lit the ceramic pumpkin next to the monster one for him to substitute for the one he carved. The next day "HALLOWEEN" we woke up early and started with the monthly cleaning. When we were done nana and papa were there to start building the second attic. Our first attic upstairs was just too small and that's where the hot water heater was and we didn't want alot of stuff next to it so we put a second one downstairs in the garage now to have more room. Let me tell you this was a very interesting day. I brought Dalton's dresser downstairs from his bedroom to redo it to match his new Cars room and while I was priming it Dalton fell into the primer. WONDERFUL!!! While my grandma was trying to rinse him down in the kitchen primer is going all over my dark cherry cabinets so now there are little white drops all over them and are very noticable. So I went in and took him to the bathroom and cleaned him up really good. He managed to ruin his clothes but luckily his shoes were saved. Now for the critter part of the weekend, after they were done with the attic nana and I were trying to organize the bins that were in the garage so they would be ready to go into the attic. Well when we built our house we were the only ones everything else was fields. Since then the whole street has been developed which means all the little friends that were in the fields are now some place else. Well we have six pieces of glass that went to our coffee table and side tables in our old living room that we replaced with wood for the safety of having a baby. Those pieces of glass are wrapped in the most comfortable blankets that are around. I notice these little pellets around one of the blankets and then some on the floor. I thought oh no we have mice. Well luckily everything else was in bins which NOTHING can get into. We still checked them all just to make sure but they were all perfect. We were finally getting rid of the glass pieces since we realized we have no purpose for them anymore anyways and when we went to unwrap them out fell four little baby mice. I mean they were maybe an inch long. Ahhhh discusting!!! I freaked out and started screaming and ran out of the garage into the driveway. My grandma went over there to kill them and without even thinking I just grabbed a shovel and started wacking them. I know I know, how could I kill a baby mouse. My husband and my mom have both already gave me the sob stories. HOWEVER, it was spur of the moment I wasn't thinking and they looked grose and I just kept imagining them on me in my bed at night so I just wacked them. The bad part of this is we don't know where the mama went. I just hope she doesn't come back to find her babies. We have been letting Aggie in the garage every morning to run around in there just to make sure one doesn't jump out at me or something hahaha. Now I feel really guilty though because I just keep thinking about the movie mouse hunt and how cute that little mouse was. How could I have done that??? Anyways, we got everything loaded into the attic and now we finally have our garage back. We are trying to get this room ready for the pool table/bar that is currently in our upstairs gameroom. When we have another little one that will be moving to the garage and the kids playroom will be moving upstairs to the gameroom so that we still have a guestroom and each baby will have their own room. This is the whole purpose of clearing out all the decor/luggage/baby toys/etc. out of the garage. When we were done it was already time to get ready for trick or treating. Poor Aggie just gave me a look when I told him it was time to get into his costume.
I thought it would be easy to dress him since he was tired but as soon as he saw it he got all hyper crazy and started jumping around. He was batman or supposed to be anyways but the head piece didn't fit him and the outfit itself he jumped right out of so all he wore was the cape. After we were all ready my brother and his girlfriend Lauren and my mom came over to go trick or treating with Dalton around the neighborhood. I was Silk Spectre Dalton was The Hulk and Aggie was Batman so we were the superhero family. Daddy was "the biggest Dallas cowboy fan" haha he couldn't find a superhero costume anytime that we went so he just went in normal clothes because he's our superhero!!! Lauren and Aaron were Army soliders and they looked super cute!Dalton did wonderful trick or treating. Friday we had taught him how to say trick or treat but here's how he would say it "ticteet". I would tell him say thank you when he would get candy and so he would tell them thank you after they would put candy in his bucket. He also waved bye to mostly everyone as we walked away from their doors. We trick or treated first with our family early around our neighborhood.
I would carry Dalton up to the house and then he would walk up the pathways to the front doors otherwise it would've taken forever because he likes to stop and see every single thing going up the driveway and try to runaway and so forth.I think this picture is funny beacuse Aggie is sitting there like I'm not moving and I'm not going to cooperate with my costume I'm going to wear it the opposite way that it goes because I don't like halloween haha.
Aggie kept trying to pull Daddy to follow Dalton and I up to all the houses.By the end Aggie understood to wait patiently at the end of the driveway for us to come back from the door.
My mom had a lot of fun pushing Dalton in the wagon and pulling him up to the garages to get the candy. This was her first year she was able to trick or treat with him and I know she really enjoyed it.
Dalton would ride in his wagon that I decorated with some halloween garland by the houses that weren't giving out candy. Sometimes he didn't want to get back out though because in there he could eat his candy and be pulled around. What a life haha.
I still can't believe how long he left the hulk head on because I really thought he was going to rip it right off. When we were done trick or treating with my mom, Aaron and Lauren we went to our good friends the Trevino's house for a halloween party. Dalton had a great time while we were there. There were so many kids and he loved playing with all of them. Reagan wanted to ride in the wagon with Dalton while they trick or treated around their neighborhood. That is one little girl that cracks me up!!!
Here is Daddy already scoping out Dalton's candy. Hmmm no wonder it kept feeling lighter even though we kept going to more houses hahaha.
Destiny and her sisters and you can't really see but their Dad is behind them he is Zorro and he was hilarious in his costume. In fact he won the costume contest that was at the party!!!
Destiny Me and Courtney posing for a picture in the freezing cold.
The last critter part of the weekend was Sunday night. Sunday we just laid around and were lazy and just played. Well in preperation for Christmas I wanted to get all of Dalton's old baby toys put up so we could make some room in his playroom for the new toys he would be getting. While we were doing this TWO lizards were in the toy room. I didn't know why at first but then I saw that my grandma had brought Aggie's deformed bear that he plays with outside in Dalton's playroom. I guess they were either inside or on his bear when she brought it in his room. Chantz just thought it was hilarious because I of course freaked out again. I just hate things that crawl around and are supposed to live outside and I get freaked out that they are going to jump on me in the middle of the night. Then last night when Dalton and I got home from work there was a cat sitting in our front garden. What the heck is up with all of the animals coming to our house?? The cat of course started freaking out while I was cooking dinner and I could hear it fighting with something through the front window. It was probably the mama mouse. Yuck I just want ONE animal at my house and that is AGGIE. No mice, lizards, cats, nothing just Aggie!!! I think we got a broken dog too because during all of this he was completely oblivious and didn't even know there were any animals in or near the house. What to do, oh my!!!

It's Been a Busy Week

So it's been a crazy busy week with us and that's why I haven't been posting as much. My grandma has been staying with Dalton and I since Chantz is out of town right now for ACAP. She is like me in always wanting to change things in houses so we have been super busy these past couple of days. I have been super busy at work with inventory counts going on and then with school I have a test this weekend and halloween is coming in two days. Dalton's babysitter is sick right now with the stomach virus and bronchitus all at the same time so today he is with nana and tomorrow I'm probably going to have to take off with him. I made his valance for his new Lightning McQueen bedroom last night and it looks awesome. It's checkered flag material I'll post pictures of it tomorrow. His car bed is coming along great. I've been working on his bathroom with is Diego animal explorer themed for a while now and it's pretty much done except for the light fixture and the floors and door knobs. I will post pictures of the final thing probably next week. Other than that we haven't been doing a whole lot with the house lately. I've just been trying to catch up with school stuff and get all of our holiday events done. We got Aggie his halloween costume two nights ago and I tried to get pictures of him in it and he was trying to jump out of it basically so that didn't work out too well. Dalton and I are both ready for Daddy to come home. Neither of us have been sleeping good without him home and we miss him terribly.

My Little "Pumpkins" and a Little Project

So I told you the other day that Aggie and Dalton's new thing is to climb together up the slide and that Aggie himself is sliding down the slide now. Well the picture of Aggie coming down the slide is way to blurry but I have some of him climbing up with Dalton.
You can't really see him in the one above but he is behind Dalton to the right you can see his head a little to the right of Dalton's shoulder and his paw is right by the orange part on the top right.
Here you can see him better waiting his turn to get up the slide haha.Dalton learned how to sit down and push himself down his slide all by himself the other day.
He loves to slide fast enough that he lands straight on his butt with his legs flying out in front of him.
He didn't want to come in to get more clothes on (no my son does not always wear just a diaper when out in the backyard haha it just seems like it in all his pictures on the slide) but it was getting colder by the minute that night so we made him put a jacket on and I just think his face is hilarious in this picture. This is the face he makes when he is mad at whatever you are making him do.
My little bugaboo in his jacket ready to go back out and show off his sliding skills some more.
Ok now for a little project I did this Friday night. I had a scarecrow that I wanted to put somewhere but I really wanted something for her to sit on that could raise her from the ground. So I bought these two unfinished boxes at hobby lobby.
I decided to paint them on all sides and top with a rusty brown color to go with the fall colors in the house.
I bought two different sizes so I could stack them and she would be on top of the top box. It would give her some lift for where I was going to put her.
Then I got some twine and hot glued it to all the corners and to the sides of the lids.
And here she is on her new seat!!!
While I was doing this project Dalton and Daddy were playing golf with his new Mickey Mouse Golf Set. I kept telling them not to hit the ball too hard but they did and boom under the stove it went.
Here they are both looking for it under the stove so they can keep playing.
Dalton's like "uh Dad can you hurry up I'm waiting patiently" hahaha. They finally got it out and were able to finish playing their game. Then we watched Ghosts of Girlfriends past together for the first time. It was a cute movie thank you Daddy for getting it for us to watch!!! Saturday we went to a Pumpkin Patch to get our pumpkins this year. We knew that we wanted to go to one this year because last year we were out on a wild goose chase trying to find one and we ended up getting lost somewhere. This year our good friend Kristy told us about one that she passes on the way home so we decided to check it out. It was adorable and we're super glad we went. When we first got there Dalton was taking a nap so he was a little out of it. I brought him over to sit in the pumpkins and he just sat down on one and was watching everything that was going on while Daddy was buying our hay ride tickets.
When he saw Daddy coming over to us he jumped up and got so excited and then he really "woke up".
My little "Pumpkin"
We wanted to get all of our activities done first before we picked our pumpkins so we wouldn't have to carry them around everywhere. Here is Dalton and Daddy on the hay ride before Mommy jumped on.
Here we all are ready to get the show on the road.
As soon as the hay ride started Dalton got excited. Dalton loves cows and when he saw them he said "WHOA" really loud:):)
The Hay Ride was actually alot longer than I thought it was going to be. It took us all around the land and we saw SO many Christmas Tree farms growing getting ready for the next couple of months. It was cute to see how small they start out and then how big they grow. When we got back from the hay ride we decided to get a snack. Daddy got a hot dog and a sprite and Dalton and I got nachos and a coconut snowcone. Dalton thought the snowcone was only for him and did not like sharing with Mommy hahaha.
There was a big turkey by where we were sitting and Dalton seemed to want to climb up there so with a little help from Mommy he got up there and was trying to ride the turkey. I guess he thought it was like a big horsey haha.
Dalton looks so tiny next to those two pumpkins!!!

Awwww and here is Dalton with his new friend he made. Him and the scarecrow loved snuggling in the chair together:) Then it was time for the train ride however we were stopped by these two HUGE moonwalk slides. Mister Dalton was trying to run and get on them as hard as he could so we decided to use our tickets for these instead of the train ride since we'd already been on the hay ride. Daddy said he got a picture of me and Dalton going down them and this was the picture. Ummm where are we Daddy? hahaha I guess we slid down too fast. Dalton was so cute when it was time to get off of them I was bringing him to the side to let him down and when he felt the ground beneath his feet instead of the moonwalk he picked his legs up because he wanted to go back on. Then he just kept trying to outrun me back to the entrance to the moonwalk while I was trying to get his shoes back on.
Sunday we decided to take Aggie to the Doggie Park in my mom's neighborhood which is right down the road from our house. I feel so bad for him because our yard is terribly small and I wish we had more room for him to run around so we took him here where he could be off of his leash and run as fast as he pleased.
Boy did he love it. And he loved interacting with all the other dogs that were there too. He played with two golden retrievers, an australian sheperd, a basset hound, a sharpe (however you spell that) and I can't remember what that massive dog was. The owner told me and she also said she weighs 80 pounds. After seeing that and knowing that Aggie was going to be over 110 pounds I just kept thinking we bought a little horse not a dog hahaha.
My little man posing for the camera.
Best Friends!!!
Our Fur Baby!!! He had such a great time and came home and napped the whole rest of the day.
Dalton did great playing with ALL of the dogs. He brought his little football and was throwing it with them and running with them all. It was so cute:-) Then we went home and carved our pumpkins we had gotten.
Dalton and I washed all three of the pumpkins to get all the filth off of them.
Dalton was playing with Daddy's while we were cutting and gutting the other two.
Here he is yelling basically telling me to hurry and do the one he has instead of taking pictures haha.
And there is his hilarious pouty look:):):):) I think it is so funny when he does this and I always say "Oh are you being a crabby" in a little donald duck voice and he just gives me this look like Mom you are NOT FUNNY!!! hahaha
Alright, they are all gutted and now we're ready to start the carving. Dalton is trying to figure out how to put the top on. He likes it better upside down because everytime I would put it back right he would come by and put it back upside down again.
Aggie was wonderful laying on the cushion where he slept to take his nap outside in the beautiful weather.
The three finished pumpkins.
Dalton's that I carved!!! It's the cutest little Monster. Half way through carving I lost the little paper so I had to eye ball it the rest of the way by the front cover. No offense to any of you that loves these but this is the first and LAST year we will do the whole carving set with the book that you have to poke the little holes and then carve or whatever. I just cut as I went I didn't even poke holes and neither did Chantz it was such a waste of time to us. It took us triple the time it usually takes us to cut our pumpkins and we do just as good when we just eye ball it so from now on it's back to the old times when they didn't have those books.
This is my pumpkin that Chantz carved for me because Dalton's was taking forever.
And Chantz's "original" pumpkin. He doesn't like to really do the whole design thing he likes them better to stick to the original design with just the happy face haha. After we carved pumpkins I went shopping while Daddy watched football and the kids slept. I got so many cute things I can't even list them all. I'm starting Dalton's new room this week so I went and got some fabric and ribbon and paint and I'll post some of the projects as the week progresses. I also made the cutest little ghosts to stand in our walkway border that are getting drenched as I type. It is pouring here like a monsoon hahaha. I hope they hold up cause they are adorable. While I was making the ghosts chantz and I looked at each other and said hmm why don't we hear Dalton......
I know he was in Aggie's new crate. When we bought Aggie this new HUGE crate a couple of weekends ago Chantz said you watch Dalton is going to think this is his new playhouse lol. I didn't believe him but this is surely what happened.
We had a super weekend and are ready for Halloween now!!! I hope all of you had a great weekend. This week holds lots of projects in Dalton's bedroom that I can't wait to get started on and we have to get Aggie's halloween costume. So we'll be busy busy busy!!!
