February Random

Valentines Day is in February and we usually waste money on flowers, candy, going out to eat, balloons, etc. Well this year Chantz and I decided that we would finally take our very overdue Honeymoon. I had just started a new job when we got married so we only got to go downtown for the weekend after we got married since I didn't have vacation:( Soon after that we had Dalton and never got the chance to actually take a vacation just the two of us. Soooo.....
Chantz and I will be going on a 5 day cruise to the Carribean in April which will be a little after our two year anniversary.:):) We both cannot wait and I think Chantz is dieing of anxiety because he can hardly wait to go on his first cruise:) Even though I have been on two previously with my family, this will be my first time on Carnival cruise lines and it will be our first vacation just the two of us so we are both thrilled and very anxious. We also booked a Royal Swim with the dolphins in Cozumel while we're there. I know Chantz is a little worried because he thinks everything is "an animal and can attack at any second" but I have done a dolphin encounter where you are standing in the water and they come and kiss you and these dolphins are VERY trained. I know this will be a once in a lifetime experience to get to actually SWIM with them and it will be something that we will never forget. I am so blessed that we are finally going to be able to get away from all the craziness of our everyday lives with work, school, house projects and so much more and just share our love for each other. Dalton will be staying with my Dad and step mom while we're gone which is going to be VERY hard for both of us but I already told them we will be calling every port we come into:):) I know he will have a blast over there because they spoil him rotten and let him do whatever he wants with no rules but we will miss him.

Since we're on the subject of Valentines Day....we all went to eat at Wings N More a couple of nights before Valentines Day and Dalton and Chantz were playing games while I was waiting for all of our food to come to the table.

Dalton is SO awesome at playing those games with the claw that wins the stuffed animals:) and he won Mommy a little I Love You Monkey. He came up and said "Eee go Mommy" and gave me the little monkey along with a Dalton hug and kiss:):):) It was one of the sweetest moments of my life. I feel like I keep thinking oh no if he keeps growing he's not going to be my sweet little baby anymore but the more he grows the sweeter he gets and he says things that make you feel SO loved.

After that we went to the store to get his friends at his babysitters some Valentines cards. We let Dalton walk down the aisle and pick out which ones he wanted for them and he picked Sponge Bob. He had a hard time deciding between "kit kat" his new favorite thing (no Chantz won't let us get one) "bootball" and "ponge bob". When we got home he sat on the counter and helped me write out his valentines to his friends so he could bring them the next day to Miss Laura's house.

Then of course it was time to do what I'm always doing....HOMEWORK. Well this time Dalton decided he wanted to help me do my math homework. When a cute little face like the one below comes up to me and sits next to me and is talking to me about the calculator it is VERY hard to actually do homework because all I want to do it play with him.

So we did what we do best.....PLAY AND ACT GOOFY TOGETHER:):):)

Hey, we counted to 5 okay?? So we were learning numbers still in the midst of acting silly;)

Later that week in more preparation for Valentines we put out all the decorations and we even drew some hearts on our chalkboard. I drew all the hearts and then Dalton helped color some pretty pink and white ribbon lines on the bottom:0) I don't have pictures of all our valentines decorations but I did take one of us with our drawings.

Some of these pictures are going to look crazy and out of whack because of the clothes we're wearing some of them we're in sweaters and bundled up and some we're in shorts and tee shirts. I know it looks crazy, but unfortunately down here in Houston, TX that's how the weather has been lately. How we've been managing to stay healthy during all this is beyond me.

Dalton's new favorite things to eat are "gapes". He was yelling at Poppy the other day when he was at nana and poppys because he wanted the grapes and poppy is a little hard of hearing (even though he doesn't want to admit it) and so he couldn't understand what he wanted and Dalton finally YELLED "GAPES!!!" and pointed to the fake grapes in the bowl on nana's table hahaha. It was really funny and nana was cracking up.

I was doing homework while Chantz took these pictures of him sitting on the couch but he said it was adorable. He said he gave Dalton the plate with grapes on it and Dalton went and walked over to the couch, put the plate down, helped himself up on the couch, then sat there eating them and went to change the channel which ended up on Diego so that he could eat his snack while watching his show. It amazes me how smart he is and how he knows EXACTLY what to do and how to do everything we do.

Early Birthday Presents

This post is also very behind schedule but better late then never haha. I have written before about how my car was getting on my nerves and finally around the middle of January I had enough. Since my birthday is in March Chantz decided that two months wasn't that big of a deal:) So we went out and got me a new SUV instead of my two door car that was a pain in the butt putting Dalton back there. I had previously wanted a Ford Edge but when I saw in the Explorer I was in love. It was more roomy than the edge and had a third row of seats which I know will come in handy since everyone always wants to take one car. I also liked that it has a towing hitch on it unlike the Edge did just in case I want to pull something. All in all it was the perfect match for me and I am so thankful that I finally have a vehicle that is off the ground and very spacious on the inside. Thank you Chantz for the perfect birthday present:) Dalton was WONDERFUL in the dealership even though it was WAY past his bedtime. He kept saying "big tuck" and "dive" he would run over to it and try to pretend he was driving it. He now knows how to tell the difference between "car" and "tuck" and "big tuck". All trucks he calls tuck and all cars he will call car and then SUVs or 18 wheelers or RVs he calls all of those big tucks. He points at all of the vehicles in all of the driveways everymorning and afternoon and goes down the line telling me what they all are:)

On another note, Dalton's birthday is not to far away either. He will be two in March and for some reason when we were at Walmart and Dalton was asking for "fishy" (meaning gold fish), Chantz thought he wanted an actual fish. We decided we would get him a little gold fish globe and some 20 cent goldfish to go in there that way if they died it was no big deal. We thought since he was about to be 2 this would be a neat "early birthday present" and would give him something he could look at and watch in his room. Chantz wanted to get him a beta fish and when I saw the price was 4.00 I was like "oh no that's too much money for a fish". Well the gold fish there didn't look to healthy so we went and bought the globe and decided we would go to fish r us which is right by our house and get him some decent looking gold fish.
Well once we got there, there were SO many fish to choose from. I kept asking Dalton do you like this one or this one or this one and he just kept saying "fishie fishie fishie" and "yeah" to all of them.

He finally decided on one that I really wanted him to have too:) They are called parrot fish. and are just adorable. They are so fat and have cute little eyes and their lips make a cute little smile. They come in all different colors but Dalton picked the red one that he wanted, well it's more of an orange.

Guess how much the fish was......$20.00!!! And I was complaining about a 4.00 beta fish ha! Dalton held his fish in his lap in the car the whole way home and was hugging it and holding the bag up so he could look at him:) So we get home and put the new fish in the water inside the globe fish bowl that we got.

Well as you can see in the pictures Dalton is so happy about his fish, but does the fish look happy in that little bow?? NO. I guess I didn't realize when my brother had these fish he had them in a HUGE aquarium tank. Well that night my family came over to see his new fish and my Uncle who knows almost everything about all fish was there and he was telling me I have to get a filter tank with a fish like that. SO my mom went to the store with Chantz to get one while I did my homework at home with Dalton and my brother. ANOTHER $40.00 for the tank they got. That $4.00 beta is sounding pretty good right now:)
While they were there they realized because of the shape of their mouth they need pellets not flakes which is the food we had already bought. ANOTHER 6.00 how nice:)
I don't actually have pictures yet of the fishy in his new home with the big tank that's in Dalton's room, but when he was first in there he was SO lonely you could just tell he was going to die from being by himself.

(please excuse the mess in the dining room pictures we are in the midst of finding paint colors and decorations) SO we went to petsmart that following weekend and bought some plants for the tank along with a sucker fish and some big headed goldfish looking thing. ANOTHER 30.00 so by the time we added it all up this couple of 20 cent fish we were going to get ended up way over 100.00 hahaha. That's just something usual that goes on with us we never think things ALL the way through but at least Dalton loves them and he has his own pet who can actually sleep in his room and not bother him unlike Aggie haha. We are going to move them into the new playroom we'll be doing soon because right now Dalton wants NOTHING to do with sleeping in his room becasue of the sound from the pump running so we need to have it go back to the way it was but we are not getting rid of our new 100 dollar investment hahaha they will just go into the playroom and that's what we're going to be basing our decorating on:)

Catch Up

I cannot believe I haven't posted in almost a month!!! I feel horrible but we have been so busy and I lost my camera there for a little while. Hopefully now we will be back on track with regular postings. So much has happened since my last post but I'm going to start with Chantz's birthday. Chantz's birthday was on January 25th and I felt so bad because we were all sick:( I had planned so many fun things since he was turning a quarter of a century and I couldn't even get out of bed until the late afternoon that day. The Saturday before we went to Gigi's house to celebrate with Gigi, Paul, Stevi and Brandon. Stevi and Brandon brought their adorable niece and her and Dalton had a blast playing with each other. Earlier that day Dalton had gotten his first "big boy" haircut. Usually we just cut with scissors but this time he got a buzz hair cut with a fade. I cried when they were done because he looked WAY older and I felt like I lost my baby:( While we were at the haircut place Dalton went to the bathroom right through his clothes which is VERY unlike him. I thought it was a little weird but we went afterwards to Walmart to get him a new pottey seat. We had bought him the one that sits on the ground a week prior and he almost had a heart attack when I put him near it so we were getting one that hooks directly on the seat instead. He picked out a football one of course and he loves it and carried it around the house for the remainder of that afternoon. While we were at Walmart he had went again through his clothes. I changed him again and when we got home which is literatly 5 minutes away he went again. I knew at this point something was wrong so I packed a ton of extra clothes and we went to Gigi's for Chantz's birthday celebration. I thought it was something he ate until at Gigi's he went two more times through his clothes. I went to Walgreens and got him two different pedialytes and pedialyte ice pops to try to help him from dehydrating. We ended up leaving early because his bottom started getting red and I knew I needed to get home and get him some diaper rash cream on there. Even though he was so sick you couldn't see ANY difference in him. He was his happy playful self the whole time. I took a ton of pictures while we were there. I kept wanting to get good ones with his new hair style:) Gigi and Paul just did one of the extra rooms into a playroom for the grandkids and it is so cute!!! She did orange and bright blue for the colors and I LOVE IT!!! The kids loved taking a bath together and opening chantz's cards and throwing around the gift cards ha they know where the money is.

When we got home the next day Dalton still had a little bit of the runs but it was getting better. Later Sunday night after we got back from my mom's house however Chantz started feeling nauseated and went to sleep in the other room in case he was sick. In the middle of the night I started to hear him throwing up and I couldn't believe that it was his birthday (at this point it was after midnight so it was technically Monday) and he was throwing up:( Not long after I started throwing up as well. His whole birthday we were both extremely sick:( that night my grandma brought over a cake because she felt that we still needed to sing him happy birthday even though we couldn't eat it. We had to use tea light candles since we couldn't find the other ones which was pretty funny, but it was still great that we got to sing him Happy Birthday:) Dalton and them had a great time eating it and even Aunt Carol and Hunter came over later to see how we were doing and wish him a happy birthday. It was very nice for all of them to be there with us. By the next day we were both fine and so was Dalton however that's when we learned that both my mom and my brother had gotten it along with Stevi, Brandon, Gigi and Paul. Thankfully by that weekend we were all better and no one was sick anymore. That Saturday night we went to go eat at Outback to celebrate what we would've done on Monday for his birthday.

In the end I think Chantz's birthday turned out to be great because we actually got to spend all day together as a family despite the circumstances. Hopefully next year we won't all be sick:)
