April 2010 Memories

April was a super busy month for us just like all of the other months out of the year. We went on our honeymoon cruise that was LONG overdue and a lot of fun, celebrated Easter, celebrated some pre-birthday parties for Dalton, built our bed, had some silly fun shopping adventures, got sick, got Aggie trained, took Dalton to work day and much much more.....

Starting with the beginning of the month we celebrated Easter. Uncle Robert came down to Houston to celebrate the holiday weekend with us and brought cute little Ramsey with him. We had a special birthday party for Dalton at my mom's house that weekend so he could be there with Dalton for a little bit since he wasn't going to be able to make it back down when his actual party was. He got Dalton a baseball bat set that was just ADORABLE. Dalton just loved it and was a natural as soon as he got the bat in his hand. It has recently come to me that my child is OBSESSED with sports. He can tell you every single one of them by name and what you do in that sport like shoot, throw, kick whatever and he knows to say "goal, 2 points, touchdown, or homerun" depending on which one he's talking about too. Not in April but this past couple of weeks in June Chantz has been home with Dalton in prep for the police academy to start and now Dalton is old enough to where when I call to say hey what are you guys doing he says "I want talk mommy" and then when he talks to me he tells me "I play football" or "I play basketball" which is of course telling on Daddy because they are not supposed to be just playing all day on the xbox either football or basketball games hahaha. The other day when he said it I heard Chantz say shhh Dalton don't tell mommy that she'll want us to turn it off. Not that I don' tlike them spending time together I just think that it's not that healthy to sit in front of a tv and play video games all day. Anyways back to Dalton's birthday party he had a great time and of course loved that all the attention was on him, he got presents and got to eat the wonderful cake:):):) He's just like his mommy;)

Of course there's nana tagging along shoving food in Dalton's mouth the whole time hahaha like every other time.
Soon after he came in town we started construction on our HUGE masterpiece our new master bed. I got the plans from Anna and let me tell you these are some of best things I have ever came across. They are super easy directions and fully explained to where even someone like me who has never done a bit of carpentry work in her life can do them. I was so proud that I actually got the courage up to do this and the final product looks great. I don't have any completed pictures just yet because we're still working on the bedroom but they will come soon....You can tell how excited I was to do this project as I am in my heels and work clothes still while cutting wood for the bed. I didn't even eat barely while this was going on I would come home and run right into the garage I was so excited.

On actual Easter Sunday we got up and went to church. I wanted to stick around to let Dalton participate in the Easter egg hunt that they had but Chantz was being super bossy and rushing so we had to leave and go home to get our house prepped for our guests haha.
Dalton's Aunt Stevi and Uncle Brandon came over to spend Easter with us as well as his Gigi and Paul. We ate plain spaghetti because Aunt Stevi is pregnant and I didn't want to make something that had alot of spice or flavor and upset her baby in her stomach. We all watched the Blind Side together which is one of my favorite movies and we played with Dalton outside with his bubbles bubbles and more bubbles that he got in all of his five easter baskets.
It was so hot outside but we let Dalton do an easter egg hunt anyways in the backyard which was a ton of fun. Easter was great this year because he was actually able to eat the candy and go and grab all of the eggs and you could tell by looking at his face that he was enjoying it. Despite the heat, Easter was alot of fun this year and very relaxing besides the rushing home from church;)
And this little bug got COMPLETELY spoiled. He got a basket from my Aunt and Uncle, my mom, my other Uncle, Chantz's mom and Paul, Stevi and Brandon, us and the Easter Bunny, plus a whole wardrobe from Gigi:)

Please don't pay any mind to our horrifying backyard. We haven't had time at this point to go back there and get it all cleaned out but luckily while Chantz has been home in June he's been able to clean it out and get it to grow back and look beautiful again:):)

One week day in April I got a phone call from my babysitter saying that I needed to come pick up Dalton immediatly because her dad was being rushed to the emergency room. Well this was at about lunch time so I couldn't just leave for the day when I had a ton of stuff left to do so I got the bright idea to bring him to work with me after talking to my boss. He actually did awesome but we were having a meeting in the conference room which is directly across my office with all of our "head hanchos" and you can hear through these doors sort of even though mine was shut so I kept telling him shhh shhh don't talk so loud. But he really did do really good and everyone kept saying oh did you know you have a lump growing out of your hip because I was carrying him everywhere with me so it was pretty funny. We only stayed for a couple of hours but when I came in the next day I found all of my photos on my bookshelf messed up and my business cards all over the floor and on the chair in front of my desk and it made me want to just go and scoop him up. So it was nice to have him here and it's nice to see his little pen marks on the one corner of my desk he left to remind me of our times here:):)
I still have to upload some of the pics from the cruise and then I will be able to finish off the month of April and into May. Hopefully then I will be able to keep up more with our blog and memories....

I love you!!!

I know it has been forever since I posted. It has been a week, oh my. Last Saturday my ac wasn't cooling in the car so we took it in and what do you know there's a leak in the condensor. They said the extended warranty should cover it because it was a "malfunctioned piece of equipment". Well I got a phone call Monday morning letting me know that the leak is not on a seam so a small pebble must have popped up and hit it while I was driving sometime and so the extended warranty is not going to cover it. They told me the price was going to be 835.00 with parts and labor HELLO that is almost a thousand dollars. So I went and picked up the car and took it to Shell Oil & Lube and they are fixing it right now for only 500.00 so I got a little bit of a break. This car is just a nightmare in itself. Ever since I bought it I have been doing nothing but replacing things. It's a toyota solara and everyone keeps telling me "this is so unusual it's not like toyotas to have all these problems". Well I guess I bought the one that is a lemon. So now we are trying to figure out if it would just be better and easier for us to trade it in and get something more practical and economical for our family. I don't need a two door luxury car with all the bells and whistles anymore I just need something with space and that doesn't stain easily, ha!!! The week after I drove off the lot in my solara I found out I was pregnant, nice, now I have a two door car that I just traded my FOUR door car in for. Dalton and I drove the truck for the first year of his life because it has four doors and was easier to get the car seat in and out of but now we are taking the car again because I feel like I'm driving a boat when I drive that truck. I love my car and it was my dream car however not with a lab that is getting bigger by the day and a growing family. So we will see what happens at least the car is finally being worked on this morning after taking three days for the part to come in and being without a car since last Saturday.

On top of that, Monday morning we heard that Baker Hughes is buying out our company. WONDEFUL, just what I need right now. Some think it's good and some think it's bad, but overall every employee at BJ and Baker right now is pretty scared as to the impact it will have on employment opportunities for us. I'm sure all of you know by now becuase it's all over the internet, newspaper, and tv. Now we're all just sitting tight until we can find out some more information on the outcome of all of this. I hate situations where I don't know what's going on whether it's good or bad news I would rather know upfront than sit in limbo trying to figure it out and guess what will happen.

Aggie is doing much better ever since we bought that apple bitter spray. I would definitley suggest that with puppies to help them learn not to chew. We are probably still going to replace the carpet at our earliest convienance because there are two areas that he had gotten a hold of them and on Tuesday night he ran all over the living room WHITE carpet with little black and brown paws from running through the dirt and mulch. So now we have little spots all over the place and hopefully tomorrow when we rent a steam cleaner it will take most of them out for the time being.

Dalton is awesome!!!! He is learning how to say I love you!!!! When we say I love you he says "IIIIIIII lldgeeeww" It's so cute because the I is clear as day and he says it so long and drags the word out and then the rest is really quick:) It still makes my heart melt when I hear him say it because he's telling us he loves us. Last night we watched Mama Mia because I had to write a couple of paragraphs on it for my theatre class and since I've already seen the movie more times than I can count we were having dance practice in our living room:) I would hold Aggie and dance with him and Chantz would hold Dalton and dance with him and then we would switch and we would dance really close together so Dalton would hold onto Aggie and he was just laughing and laughing and laughing. It's moments like those that just make you realize there is nothing else that matters in the world except for those that you love the most and spending time with them is the only thing you need to be happy.

Update

So I know I haven't wrote very many posts this month but I have been super busy getting ready for school, working, training Aggie and getting ready for FOOTBALL SEASON. I know that I had to get everything done I wanted done in the house for the next six months before football started because once that happens Chantz is out for six months, ha! Our tv is already glued to NFL Network and we are always watching a preseason game, sorry Dalton not as much Sponge Bob and Diego. I love football season because that means FALL is coming!!!! All my favorite holidays are not that far off now....

Aggie is doing better. He is still biting some and chewing but for the most part he is now understanding when I get my firm "Aggie" out that means quit what you're doing. But not all the time because sometimes he just looks at you and then goes right back to doing it like "what are you going to do about it". I read that puppies aren't really "trained" until they are around 6 months so that is what I'm asking for from Santa this year:) Let Aggie wake up Christmas morning and be fully trained!!! We just bought some Apple Bitter spray to try for him to stop the chewing because he started chewing the carpet and entertainment center and those are big No Nos. I'll keep you updated on how that goes with the spray.

Work has been super busy lately which is WONDERFUL. I work for an oil company so with the current status of our economy the busier we are the better we are. Today marks my one year working with BJ and I love it!!!! I am so lucky that I am able to work for BJ. I have the best team of coworkers in my group and they are so supportive which is always a plus. School started yesterday!!! Hooray, I am so thrilled:) It is one semester closer to finishing my degree. Luckily, I seem to have great teachers and the classes that I've chose to take don't seem like they will get too overwhelming for me which is what I was afraid of. This is my first semester to go to school while having Dalton so I am a little nervous I won't be able to make time for everything but so far so good.

We keep getting more and more excited about Disney!!!! It's almost just one month away and we watch the dvd of all the parks like twice a week. I can't wait to go on vacation and be away from everything and just enjoy time with my family. We are still deciding where to stay for the first night before we get to our resort. I think it's between the nickelodeon hotel and the animal kingdom hotel. If anyone knows anything about either of these hotels please let me know so you can help us make a decision. They both look like great hotels but the decision is so tough!!!!
