May Overview

May was a busy month for us. We started by picking up Aggie from training and doing his "continuing education" classes on weekends. I had finals which ended the spring semester for me in college. Chantz got accepted to the Police Academy:) Our little pumpking turned 2!!! We got ready for Aggie's first birthday on June 6th and a whole lot more.....

I have more pictures to upload for May I just haven't found the cord still. These are the ones my sil took at his birthday party which was at Northshore Park this year. It was SO hot but SO much fun. This year was so exciting because he was actually able to pick out his theme all on his own and seeing his excitement when the party goods were coming in was just "a kodak moment". He picked Yo gabba gabba which by now in July has gotten on my last nerve haha because it's all he wants to watch. I was so thrilled when I found a special 2nd birthday theme with Gabba on it since he was turning 2!!! We got him a banner that is still in his playroom right now that has all of the gabba characters with his picture on it telling him happy birthday. He refuses to take it down and he STILL gets excited when he walks in there and says Gabba and Dalton and cracks up laughing. Speaking of his laughing the way he really laughs is so funny. When he thinks something is just outrageously funny he will throw his head back and put his hand to cover his mouth and laugh. When he laughs with his head like this it almost sounds like he's snorting so it's really funny. Back to his birthday party he had a great time. He had so much fun playing with his friends and feeding the ducks with them. This was the first year that we had a pinata at his party and at first he was shy and scared of it but as soon as he saw his cousin Kade hit it he wanted the bat and went running up there to whack the heck out of it. We had a two tiered red and yellow cake this year with some matching red cake balls and let me tell you the kids LOVED the cake balls. They couldn't get enough of them. You can see in some of the pictures he got the gabba shirt that matched his party theme and everytime I do the laundry if he sees it in the basket he'll say mommy put gabba shirt on and he'll start taking his shirt off. He is just too much now:):) He got a ton of clothes and toys for his birthday but the one thing he would not take off the entire day was his helmet that goes with his new motorcycle that Gigi and Paul got him. Despite the heat, we had a great time and Dalton was so pooped he crashed as soon as we put him in the car to go home.

This next picture is in preparation for Aggie's first birthday!!! This is a picture of him when we first picked him up. He was only 7 weeks and it's so crazy to me how fast he has grown over this first year. He is HUGE and isn't even fully grown yet. I think at his first year he weighed right around 80 pounds which means he still has 30 to go. He has brought so many funny and loving memories to our family. When you see the movie Marley and Me that really is how our life with him is. He is just like another baby all over again:):)
Right after Dalton's birthday party we took his two year photos. I was so pleased with how they came out this year:):) Looking back at his first year pictures to this year I just want to cry at how quickly it feels like the time has gone by:(

I ended the semester right after Dalton's birthday party which was wonderful. Right before finals we went through a pretty rough time because Dalton came down with pneumonia:( I basically blew through all of my sick time at work because I was out with him for almost two weeks. It was one of the scariest things I've ever been through in my life. When I first took him to the doctor I had to go alone because Chantz couldn't get off work and she told me it sounded like either something was stuck in his wind pipe and they would have to go surgically in and get it or that he is just really inflammed. I immediatly broke out in tears and felt like I was going to throw up. I wanted so bad for it to be me instead of him. Then we were told that we had to go get xrays to see what was actually in there and when we went to the xray room the lady pulled this clear tube standing upright with this wooden circle around it over to us. She told me I needed to strip him down to a diaper and we were going to put him inside this tube and hold his arms up over his head. As soon as she put him in there he started screaming and asking me mommy help mommy get me out and she told me I needed to stop comforting him and let him cry because it would make it easier for his lungs to show what was going on with them. Talk about the worst mother moment in history. My child was stuck in this tube that all I could see was his cheeks smooshed in the plastic and his little nose was sticking out of this hole so he could breathe and I had to hold his arms up in the air and not even comfort him when he was looking to me for help and comfort. I was SO upset. When we left I went and took him home and waited by my phone for the phone call. I felt like the minutes were hours until we got the results. Finally they told us he had pneumonia and they put him on two medicines for it. It was exhausting those next days trying to keep a two year old from running and getting overly excited. Plus on top of this I was trying to play catch up from being away from school on our cruise and get ready for finals. Five days after he first got sick was mothers day. At this point I had been around him for that long that I myself started to feel bad and so Chantz went and picked us up food at the restaurant we were going to go eat at for mothers day and we ate at home instead and spent the day resting and coloring together. It was a pretty neat mothers day because since we were sick we basically couldn't go out and focus on other things like we usually do instead we spent quality time together at home which was really awesome. Dalton ended up healing just in time to have a week of rest before his party which was nice because he was 100% by that time then. I hope I never have to go through something like that again it was the worst feeling in the world being a mom and not being able to do anything to help your child when they're asking you to.
One of the last things that happened in May was Chantz's new truck. I just knew that since I got a new car in January that the "I need a new truck" was coming. Well one day I get a phone call at work saying "the exact truck that I want is here and it's the only one that is made like this and someone is looking to buy it right now so I need to know right this second if I can have it or not otherwise they may buy it and then I'll have passed up on this great truck". Well what do you know that night Chantz came home with this "awesome amazing one of a kind truck":):) It's so funny because he always gets on me for "overexaggerating" when I say can I please have this I really need this it's the last one in this color or my size or whatever but then when I saw the truck I mean don't get me wrong it's beautiful but I'm pretty sure it's not the only one made in the world hahaha. So here it is his new truck (the only one in the world but they actually had a picture online of it hahaha)He is too much too:):)
It came with cloth but they threw in leather for him as part of the deal. Well he brings home all of these swatches of leather and him and I spent a whole night debating what we each thought would look good. The reason I have this picture is because I wanted it a different way but this is actually how he got it with the two toned the dark grey on the outside with light grey on the insides (I thought it would look better all light grey). I have to admit when he brought it home with the leather done it was gorgeous so he was right and he just ate it up when I said the words "wow you were right" hahaha.

The Semester is Finally Over!!

Well grades are in which is very nice to know that the semester finally came to a close. This semester was the most hours I've ever taken period since I first started college at one time and I can't believe I actually made it through. I took a total of 16 hours and got a gpa of 3.1 which for me is usually not that great but being that I took so many classes it is great news!! Since I was so busy putting time into my school work I sort of ran out of time to keep up with blogging. So I'm going to recap two months of the semester today and then two months tomorrow.

Today will be January and February of 2010. I did write about our trip to Harlingen in February with Valentines Day and Superbowl Sunday as well as Our Presents that we got in January as well as meeting the other half of Chantz's family. I did leave out though some important things that happened in January and February. At the end of January this year my grandparents celebrated their 50th year of marriage. All of our family that lives down here went out to eat with them at Olive Garden which was a blast. Everytime we all get together to eat or do something together I get cramps in my stomach from laughing so hard. We had a great time and they really enjoyed it even though nana wasn't feeling to sick she had a stomach bug the day before:(

For some more pictures in February I have some really cute ones of Dalton playing at the park one day with Aggie. Right now Aggie just got out of obedient school but these pictures were from before he went when he was still a hyper crazy dog:) Dalton has a blast everytime we take him and Aggie to the park together ESPECIALLY when other dogs come up there and run around with them. He gets into undefeatable mode where he is going to out run all of these dogs who are WAY bigger than him. His face expression is always adorable because he is so determined and it shows on his face when he's running with them. This particular time Aaron came with us since the park is right by my mom's house and it was really nice having Aaron there to help between Aggie acting crazy and Dalton running like a maniac ha!!!

Who's Daddy's Buddy???

So Dalton has been doing this really cute thing lately when Chantz asks him "who's daddy's buddy" he will yell "ME". He first did it at the end of last week but last night was the first time I had heard it and it was just adorable!!!

Also, I was snuggling with Aggie last night and realized that he is now 6 Months!!! He was born June 13th which means on Sunday he officially turned 6 months. Everyone knows what that means....for Christmas he is getting FIXED!!! I can't wait. They say that it will help calm them down some and I hope it calms him down ALOT, ha.
This is a picture of our Aggie that the breeder emailed to me when he was little bitty. He was just a little bigger than this when we first got him and how he has grown to the HUGE bear he has become beats me. We love him though and Dalton would just be lost without him now. They are best friends and as soon as we get home immediatley Dalton starts calling "Aggie, Aggie". And let me tell you he must be made out of armour because he has now eaten a whole bottle of flinstone vitamins, licked up some amoxcillian, and eaten about three glass ornaments that Dalton broke on the floor and this crazy dog is still here and better than ever. I was crazy scared each and every time but thankfully he pulled through all of them and now I am hoping there are no more instances like this. So Happy Birthday Aggie I can't believe you are already 6 Months old and even though you drive me crazy sometimes I love you with all my heart!!!

Ride the Pony

Well Dalton is having the time of his life this week because school is out which means he's home with his Gammy instead of at the babysitters. Tim has moved down here and brought the horses into Sam Houston Racetrack. Every morning they have to go there to race them and have the jockey practice with them and then they bathe them and get them all ready for the day. Well Dalton got to participate in this event today and my mom called me to tell me he was having a ball. I could hear him laughing in the background and the horses making their silly noises. Dalton was sweeping out the stall while they were running (btw he loves to sweep!!!) and then he got to feed a pony. Last time Dalton was around horses he was only interested in their noses and sticking his hands up their nostrels but my mom said this time he was actually petting the horses correctly. Speaking of horses Dalton was acting as a jockey last night riding Aggie. Dalton can't even ride straight because he laughs so hard when we put him on there. We will call Aggie around the house and he's like a bucking bronco and Dalton just can't get enough of it. I got it on video last night and all you hear is Dalton cracking up. As soon as we would make him get off he would go hold onto Aggie's back and try to get on while he was doing his whine cry. It was so cute he didn't want to get off of him:0)

My Little "Pumpkins" and a Little Project

So I told you the other day that Aggie and Dalton's new thing is to climb together up the slide and that Aggie himself is sliding down the slide now. Well the picture of Aggie coming down the slide is way to blurry but I have some of him climbing up with Dalton.
You can't really see him in the one above but he is behind Dalton to the right you can see his head a little to the right of Dalton's shoulder and his paw is right by the orange part on the top right.
Here you can see him better waiting his turn to get up the slide haha.Dalton learned how to sit down and push himself down his slide all by himself the other day.
He loves to slide fast enough that he lands straight on his butt with his legs flying out in front of him.
He didn't want to come in to get more clothes on (no my son does not always wear just a diaper when out in the backyard haha it just seems like it in all his pictures on the slide) but it was getting colder by the minute that night so we made him put a jacket on and I just think his face is hilarious in this picture. This is the face he makes when he is mad at whatever you are making him do.
My little bugaboo in his jacket ready to go back out and show off his sliding skills some more.
Ok now for a little project I did this Friday night. I had a scarecrow that I wanted to put somewhere but I really wanted something for her to sit on that could raise her from the ground. So I bought these two unfinished boxes at hobby lobby.
I decided to paint them on all sides and top with a rusty brown color to go with the fall colors in the house.
I bought two different sizes so I could stack them and she would be on top of the top box. It would give her some lift for where I was going to put her.
Then I got some twine and hot glued it to all the corners and to the sides of the lids.
And here she is on her new seat!!!
While I was doing this project Dalton and Daddy were playing golf with his new Mickey Mouse Golf Set. I kept telling them not to hit the ball too hard but they did and boom under the stove it went.
Here they are both looking for it under the stove so they can keep playing.
Dalton's like "uh Dad can you hurry up I'm waiting patiently" hahaha. They finally got it out and were able to finish playing their game. Then we watched Ghosts of Girlfriends past together for the first time. It was a cute movie thank you Daddy for getting it for us to watch!!! Saturday we went to a Pumpkin Patch to get our pumpkins this year. We knew that we wanted to go to one this year because last year we were out on a wild goose chase trying to find one and we ended up getting lost somewhere. This year our good friend Kristy told us about one that she passes on the way home so we decided to check it out. It was adorable and we're super glad we went. When we first got there Dalton was taking a nap so he was a little out of it. I brought him over to sit in the pumpkins and he just sat down on one and was watching everything that was going on while Daddy was buying our hay ride tickets.
When he saw Daddy coming over to us he jumped up and got so excited and then he really "woke up".
My little "Pumpkin"
We wanted to get all of our activities done first before we picked our pumpkins so we wouldn't have to carry them around everywhere. Here is Dalton and Daddy on the hay ride before Mommy jumped on.
Here we all are ready to get the show on the road.
As soon as the hay ride started Dalton got excited. Dalton loves cows and when he saw them he said "WHOA" really loud:):)
The Hay Ride was actually alot longer than I thought it was going to be. It took us all around the land and we saw SO many Christmas Tree farms growing getting ready for the next couple of months. It was cute to see how small they start out and then how big they grow. When we got back from the hay ride we decided to get a snack. Daddy got a hot dog and a sprite and Dalton and I got nachos and a coconut snowcone. Dalton thought the snowcone was only for him and did not like sharing with Mommy hahaha.
There was a big turkey by where we were sitting and Dalton seemed to want to climb up there so with a little help from Mommy he got up there and was trying to ride the turkey. I guess he thought it was like a big horsey haha.
Dalton looks so tiny next to those two pumpkins!!!

Awwww and here is Dalton with his new friend he made. Him and the scarecrow loved snuggling in the chair together:) Then it was time for the train ride however we were stopped by these two HUGE moonwalk slides. Mister Dalton was trying to run and get on them as hard as he could so we decided to use our tickets for these instead of the train ride since we'd already been on the hay ride. Daddy said he got a picture of me and Dalton going down them and this was the picture. Ummm where are we Daddy? hahaha I guess we slid down too fast. Dalton was so cute when it was time to get off of them I was bringing him to the side to let him down and when he felt the ground beneath his feet instead of the moonwalk he picked his legs up because he wanted to go back on. Then he just kept trying to outrun me back to the entrance to the moonwalk while I was trying to get his shoes back on.
Sunday we decided to take Aggie to the Doggie Park in my mom's neighborhood which is right down the road from our house. I feel so bad for him because our yard is terribly small and I wish we had more room for him to run around so we took him here where he could be off of his leash and run as fast as he pleased.
Boy did he love it. And he loved interacting with all the other dogs that were there too. He played with two golden retrievers, an australian sheperd, a basset hound, a sharpe (however you spell that) and I can't remember what that massive dog was. The owner told me and she also said she weighs 80 pounds. After seeing that and knowing that Aggie was going to be over 110 pounds I just kept thinking we bought a little horse not a dog hahaha.
My little man posing for the camera.
Best Friends!!!
Our Fur Baby!!! He had such a great time and came home and napped the whole rest of the day.
Dalton did great playing with ALL of the dogs. He brought his little football and was throwing it with them and running with them all. It was so cute:-) Then we went home and carved our pumpkins we had gotten.
Dalton and I washed all three of the pumpkins to get all the filth off of them.
Dalton was playing with Daddy's while we were cutting and gutting the other two.
Here he is yelling basically telling me to hurry and do the one he has instead of taking pictures haha.
And there is his hilarious pouty look:):):):) I think it is so funny when he does this and I always say "Oh are you being a crabby" in a little donald duck voice and he just gives me this look like Mom you are NOT FUNNY!!! hahaha
Alright, they are all gutted and now we're ready to start the carving. Dalton is trying to figure out how to put the top on. He likes it better upside down because everytime I would put it back right he would come by and put it back upside down again.
Aggie was wonderful laying on the cushion where he slept to take his nap outside in the beautiful weather.
The three finished pumpkins.
Dalton's that I carved!!! It's the cutest little Monster. Half way through carving I lost the little paper so I had to eye ball it the rest of the way by the front cover. No offense to any of you that loves these but this is the first and LAST year we will do the whole carving set with the book that you have to poke the little holes and then carve or whatever. I just cut as I went I didn't even poke holes and neither did Chantz it was such a waste of time to us. It took us triple the time it usually takes us to cut our pumpkins and we do just as good when we just eye ball it so from now on it's back to the old times when they didn't have those books.
This is my pumpkin that Chantz carved for me because Dalton's was taking forever.
And Chantz's "original" pumpkin. He doesn't like to really do the whole design thing he likes them better to stick to the original design with just the happy face haha. After we carved pumpkins I went shopping while Daddy watched football and the kids slept. I got so many cute things I can't even list them all. I'm starting Dalton's new room this week so I went and got some fabric and ribbon and paint and I'll post some of the projects as the week progresses. I also made the cutest little ghosts to stand in our walkway border that are getting drenched as I type. It is pouring here like a monsoon hahaha. I hope they hold up cause they are adorable. While I was making the ghosts chantz and I looked at each other and said hmm why don't we hear Dalton......
I know he was in Aggie's new crate. When we bought Aggie this new HUGE crate a couple of weekends ago Chantz said you watch Dalton is going to think this is his new playhouse lol. I didn't believe him but this is surely what happened.
We had a super weekend and are ready for Halloween now!!! I hope all of you had a great weekend. This week holds lots of projects in Dalton's bedroom that I can't wait to get started on and we have to get Aggie's halloween costume. So we'll be busy busy busy!!!
