May Overview

May was a busy month for us. We started by picking up Aggie from training and doing his "continuing education" classes on weekends. I had finals which ended the spring semester for me in college. Chantz got accepted to the Police Academy:) Our little pumpking turned 2!!! We got ready for Aggie's first birthday on June 6th and a whole lot more.....

I have more pictures to upload for May I just haven't found the cord still. These are the ones my sil took at his birthday party which was at Northshore Park this year. It was SO hot but SO much fun. This year was so exciting because he was actually able to pick out his theme all on his own and seeing his excitement when the party goods were coming in was just "a kodak moment". He picked Yo gabba gabba which by now in July has gotten on my last nerve haha because it's all he wants to watch. I was so thrilled when I found a special 2nd birthday theme with Gabba on it since he was turning 2!!! We got him a banner that is still in his playroom right now that has all of the gabba characters with his picture on it telling him happy birthday. He refuses to take it down and he STILL gets excited when he walks in there and says Gabba and Dalton and cracks up laughing. Speaking of his laughing the way he really laughs is so funny. When he thinks something is just outrageously funny he will throw his head back and put his hand to cover his mouth and laugh. When he laughs with his head like this it almost sounds like he's snorting so it's really funny. Back to his birthday party he had a great time. He had so much fun playing with his friends and feeding the ducks with them. This was the first year that we had a pinata at his party and at first he was shy and scared of it but as soon as he saw his cousin Kade hit it he wanted the bat and went running up there to whack the heck out of it. We had a two tiered red and yellow cake this year with some matching red cake balls and let me tell you the kids LOVED the cake balls. They couldn't get enough of them. You can see in some of the pictures he got the gabba shirt that matched his party theme and everytime I do the laundry if he sees it in the basket he'll say mommy put gabba shirt on and he'll start taking his shirt off. He is just too much now:):) He got a ton of clothes and toys for his birthday but the one thing he would not take off the entire day was his helmet that goes with his new motorcycle that Gigi and Paul got him. Despite the heat, we had a great time and Dalton was so pooped he crashed as soon as we put him in the car to go home.

This next picture is in preparation for Aggie's first birthday!!! This is a picture of him when we first picked him up. He was only 7 weeks and it's so crazy to me how fast he has grown over this first year. He is HUGE and isn't even fully grown yet. I think at his first year he weighed right around 80 pounds which means he still has 30 to go. He has brought so many funny and loving memories to our family. When you see the movie Marley and Me that really is how our life with him is. He is just like another baby all over again:):)
Right after Dalton's birthday party we took his two year photos. I was so pleased with how they came out this year:):) Looking back at his first year pictures to this year I just want to cry at how quickly it feels like the time has gone by:(

I ended the semester right after Dalton's birthday party which was wonderful. Right before finals we went through a pretty rough time because Dalton came down with pneumonia:( I basically blew through all of my sick time at work because I was out with him for almost two weeks. It was one of the scariest things I've ever been through in my life. When I first took him to the doctor I had to go alone because Chantz couldn't get off work and she told me it sounded like either something was stuck in his wind pipe and they would have to go surgically in and get it or that he is just really inflammed. I immediatly broke out in tears and felt like I was going to throw up. I wanted so bad for it to be me instead of him. Then we were told that we had to go get xrays to see what was actually in there and when we went to the xray room the lady pulled this clear tube standing upright with this wooden circle around it over to us. She told me I needed to strip him down to a diaper and we were going to put him inside this tube and hold his arms up over his head. As soon as she put him in there he started screaming and asking me mommy help mommy get me out and she told me I needed to stop comforting him and let him cry because it would make it easier for his lungs to show what was going on with them. Talk about the worst mother moment in history. My child was stuck in this tube that all I could see was his cheeks smooshed in the plastic and his little nose was sticking out of this hole so he could breathe and I had to hold his arms up in the air and not even comfort him when he was looking to me for help and comfort. I was SO upset. When we left I went and took him home and waited by my phone for the phone call. I felt like the minutes were hours until we got the results. Finally they told us he had pneumonia and they put him on two medicines for it. It was exhausting those next days trying to keep a two year old from running and getting overly excited. Plus on top of this I was trying to play catch up from being away from school on our cruise and get ready for finals. Five days after he first got sick was mothers day. At this point I had been around him for that long that I myself started to feel bad and so Chantz went and picked us up food at the restaurant we were going to go eat at for mothers day and we ate at home instead and spent the day resting and coloring together. It was a pretty neat mothers day because since we were sick we basically couldn't go out and focus on other things like we usually do instead we spent quality time together at home which was really awesome. Dalton ended up healing just in time to have a week of rest before his party which was nice because he was 100% by that time then. I hope I never have to go through something like that again it was the worst feeling in the world being a mom and not being able to do anything to help your child when they're asking you to.
One of the last things that happened in May was Chantz's new truck. I just knew that since I got a new car in January that the "I need a new truck" was coming. Well one day I get a phone call at work saying "the exact truck that I want is here and it's the only one that is made like this and someone is looking to buy it right now so I need to know right this second if I can have it or not otherwise they may buy it and then I'll have passed up on this great truck". Well what do you know that night Chantz came home with this "awesome amazing one of a kind truck":):) It's so funny because he always gets on me for "overexaggerating" when I say can I please have this I really need this it's the last one in this color or my size or whatever but then when I saw the truck I mean don't get me wrong it's beautiful but I'm pretty sure it's not the only one made in the world hahaha. So here it is his new truck (the only one in the world but they actually had a picture online of it hahaha)He is too much too:):)
It came with cloth but they threw in leather for him as part of the deal. Well he brings home all of these swatches of leather and him and I spent a whole night debating what we each thought would look good. The reason I have this picture is because I wanted it a different way but this is actually how he got it with the two toned the dark grey on the outside with light grey on the insides (I thought it would look better all light grey). I have to admit when he brought it home with the leather done it was gorgeous so he was right and he just ate it up when I said the words "wow you were right" hahaha.

Tuesdays and Thursdays and A New Car

Every Tuesday and Thursday we always go on a walk in the neighborhood because our VERY energetic furry family member Aggie HAS to go on a walk otherwise he gets restless and starts getting into things he shouldn't be in. Dalton rides in his little red wagon that he got for his birthday a couple of months ago and I pull him while Daddy fights with the monster, I'm just kidding Aggie is getting WAY better about walking on a leash. I want him to be perfect before Christmas because by then he will be HUGE and he will be dragging me down the road if he doesn't know how to heel. Luckily, he's been a really easy dog to train, knock on wood.
As you can see behind Dalton and I Aggie is trying to dig up our lava rocks bordering our deck before we went walking one night. After the walk, like always when we come back, he was out cold on the tile.
Dalton was in a crabby mood before the walk too ^ but when we got back he was in a much better mood (below) He just loves being outside I think if I let him he would live outside.
While we were walking, a dad was jogging with his little boy in one of those jogging strollers and I said to Chantz wow we need one of those for Dalton so we can start RUNNING with Aggie :) and we both looked back and this is what we saw
It was hilarious. I had to take a picture because he looks so relaxed with his feet up on his cup holders and his face says it all. He is giving us the look of please don't make me go in one of those I don't want to I like this wagon instead. I can't wait to decorate his wagon for halloween to drag him around while trick or treating. I want to put some hay in there and hopefully it's cold like it was last year so I can put his cute halloween fleece blanket that I made him in there with him. I'll show you the blanket I made when it gets closer to halloween and how easy they are to make.

Ok so I had told you all the trouble that my car has been giving me lately and how much it is making me angry. I love that car when I first bought it and it was my dream car, but now that I have Dalton and huge Aggie it's not very practical for our family. So, we set out to find me a new one a couple of weekends ago, actually it was labor day weekend to be exact. We went to carmax because I had seen this practically new Jeep Patriot there and I was in love with the pictures online. Well we got there and when we sat in it I almost threw up on myself. No offense to any of you that drive them but I get VERY chlostrophobic in dodge nitros and I sat in a Jeep Patriot and Jeep Comander and it was the same way. I think it's the very vertical windshield and dashboard. I am used to a car with a leaned slanted very cozy comfortable feel not sit upright. My friend Audra drives a dodge nitro and the one time I rode in it she had to pull over and I threw up, that's how car sick I got it in. So, we didn't get it or anything else on the lot because I just didn't see anything I liked. Hopefully the right car will come and find me. Chantz was a little aggrevated that we drove all the way out there and then as soon as we got there I was like no I don't like it, ha! He said that before we go get me a new car I need to go test drive every car that is out there and decide which one I want so we only have to go and do the dealing and leave not sit there and decide which one I want or what I want it in or what color or anything. It was well worth going out there though because Dalton had a blast.
We were letting him "test drive" all the cars that were on the show room floor. Of course he threw a fit when we made him get out.

Here is us sitting together and him giving his whatever look because we wouldn't let him get down and run around.
I think this picture is hilarious because he looks like he's saying hmmmm should I just jump off Daddy and run over there even though they told me no. He is too much, ha!!!!

I love you!!!

I know it has been forever since I posted. It has been a week, oh my. Last Saturday my ac wasn't cooling in the car so we took it in and what do you know there's a leak in the condensor. They said the extended warranty should cover it because it was a "malfunctioned piece of equipment". Well I got a phone call Monday morning letting me know that the leak is not on a seam so a small pebble must have popped up and hit it while I was driving sometime and so the extended warranty is not going to cover it. They told me the price was going to be 835.00 with parts and labor HELLO that is almost a thousand dollars. So I went and picked up the car and took it to Shell Oil & Lube and they are fixing it right now for only 500.00 so I got a little bit of a break. This car is just a nightmare in itself. Ever since I bought it I have been doing nothing but replacing things. It's a toyota solara and everyone keeps telling me "this is so unusual it's not like toyotas to have all these problems". Well I guess I bought the one that is a lemon. So now we are trying to figure out if it would just be better and easier for us to trade it in and get something more practical and economical for our family. I don't need a two door luxury car with all the bells and whistles anymore I just need something with space and that doesn't stain easily, ha!!! The week after I drove off the lot in my solara I found out I was pregnant, nice, now I have a two door car that I just traded my FOUR door car in for. Dalton and I drove the truck for the first year of his life because it has four doors and was easier to get the car seat in and out of but now we are taking the car again because I feel like I'm driving a boat when I drive that truck. I love my car and it was my dream car however not with a lab that is getting bigger by the day and a growing family. So we will see what happens at least the car is finally being worked on this morning after taking three days for the part to come in and being without a car since last Saturday.

On top of that, Monday morning we heard that Baker Hughes is buying out our company. WONDEFUL, just what I need right now. Some think it's good and some think it's bad, but overall every employee at BJ and Baker right now is pretty scared as to the impact it will have on employment opportunities for us. I'm sure all of you know by now becuase it's all over the internet, newspaper, and tv. Now we're all just sitting tight until we can find out some more information on the outcome of all of this. I hate situations where I don't know what's going on whether it's good or bad news I would rather know upfront than sit in limbo trying to figure it out and guess what will happen.

Aggie is doing much better ever since we bought that apple bitter spray. I would definitley suggest that with puppies to help them learn not to chew. We are probably still going to replace the carpet at our earliest convienance because there are two areas that he had gotten a hold of them and on Tuesday night he ran all over the living room WHITE carpet with little black and brown paws from running through the dirt and mulch. So now we have little spots all over the place and hopefully tomorrow when we rent a steam cleaner it will take most of them out for the time being.

Dalton is awesome!!!! He is learning how to say I love you!!!! When we say I love you he says "IIIIIIII lldgeeeww" It's so cute because the I is clear as day and he says it so long and drags the word out and then the rest is really quick:) It still makes my heart melt when I hear him say it because he's telling us he loves us. Last night we watched Mama Mia because I had to write a couple of paragraphs on it for my theatre class and since I've already seen the movie more times than I can count we were having dance practice in our living room:) I would hold Aggie and dance with him and Chantz would hold Dalton and dance with him and then we would switch and we would dance really close together so Dalton would hold onto Aggie and he was just laughing and laughing and laughing. It's moments like those that just make you realize there is nothing else that matters in the world except for those that you love the most and spending time with them is the only thing you need to be happy.
