First Pony Ride at the Renissance Festival

So the morning after Thanksgiving Chantz and I got up VERY early and went shopping during Black Friday. This was the first year we have done this together. I used to go with my parents when I was younger and LOVED it, but haven't been in years. When we were looking at the adds on Thanksgiving we found the camera that I had been wanting and so we decided that we would go and get it while it was on sale. Best Buy and Ritz both had it and even though it was cheaper at Best Buy I didn't want to wait in those long crazy lines there so we hit Ritz instead. We were actually surprised it didn't take us that long to get it at Ritz there were only like two other people in the store. We stopped at JCPennys on the way out and got two one pound down pillows that have improved our sleeping ALOT so far and then we went to Toys R Us to see what they had out. Let me tell you that place was pretty funny!!! We just got a couple of things but people were knocking things over everywhere and running and scrambling through the aisles like it was a life or death matter. We only had to wait about 15 minutes in line and I got to look around while Chantz waited so it wasn't really bad at all. We were right near Target after that and chantz said why don't we just go in there to laugh at everyone. Well let me tell you this store was CRAZY!!! The line just to check out was over a 4 HOUR WAIT!!! Are people insane?? I mean I could never wait that long in line to check out with my things I don't care how much money I was saving. And that was just to check out in the entertainment area to check out in the normal lines was even longer. The line wrapped around the whole entire store TWICE with going in and out of aisles. We thought it was just hilarious to watch all of these people act so silly. We went to eat a good breakfast at Dennys which was very nice to take a break from all the shopping. Then we went home and I started putting up the Thanksgiving decorations while Chantz got ready for the Renissance. Gigi and Dalton arrive shortly after and we were on our way!!!
We thought it was going to be fairly empty because of all the shopping going on for Black Friday. We were terribly wrong. I guess because everyone had their family in town for Thanksgiving they took all of them to the Renissance the next day!!! It was packed!!!
I love this picture because I have one of the two of them in front of the same thing last year.
Dalton was so tiny back then!!!
And this year he's my big boy!!!
He was playing around and got to throw a penny into the water to make a wish.
I think he wanted the penny back though after he threw it:)
And then he saw the merry go round and he was going on it whether we wanted him to or not!!!

GiGi and Dalton had such a fun time on the merry go round.
He waved every time he would pass by Mommy and Daddy.
Dalton got to experience his first Pony Ride while we were here. I know there's a lot of pictures but it was his first ride and I just had to get a ton for memories:)
He looked so graceful riding that pony!!!;)
He was so excited when they first started moving. I think it reminded him of how he rides Aggie hahaha. Only Aggie goes WAY faster than they do.

He did NOT want to get off when the ride was over. GiGi was trying so hard to make it seem like ok it's fun to get off the horse haha. He probably would've rode that pony all day if we let him.

We had a great time walking around and EATING!!! I just love the food there. We got a sausage on a stick, a hamburger, steak on a stick, funnel cakes, pretzels, and a chocolate covered banana.
Dalton had a great time running around he just kept thinking that we were playing "chase" with him so we got our work outs:):)
And of course Dalton loves when we go to the store that has all of the wind chimes.
There was one that the pipes were bigger than Chantz and it was 1600.00. Whoa that's a lot of money for a windchime!!!
This year we were actually able to sit down and watch the full show of the Jousting.
We were cheering for the red and blue knight!!
GiGi bought Dalton a sword and a shield. Now he is really a knight!!!
We just hope that he doesn't hit us with that thing because it is made solid out of wood. That would hurt!!!Our little man slept the whole way home he was so pooped from the adventureous day he had.
When we got home we started the Christmas decorations!!! We only got as far as pulling the bins down though so we decorated all of it on Saturday. We got both of our trees up and decorated the mantle is done and our village is out. The only thing we're still working on is the entertainment center. This was our first year with two trees and I absolutely LOVE them both. Here is just a taste of the tree in our dining room.
And this is just adorable. Dalton LOVED the trees. When we lit it all up he ran over and said "I ove eit" so he LOVES our tree;) He thought it was a fort at first and was trying to lay under it with me while I was trying to set up our santa ski slope. We decided that we just wouldn't do it this year because we know Aggie would chew it and Dalton would take the cars off of the slope and they would all probably be missing. So that won't be brought out until next year. I just love it because I played with one when I was younger and I went and bought one last year because I want my kids to share that fun that I had. It was very hard to find because they stopped making them like 10 years ago but I finally found one after looking long and hard!!!:):):)
This is a picture of one of the balls that Dalton was trying to put on the tree. This is the tree in our living room and he was trying to help decorate it and when I would give him a ball ornament he would just lay it inside of the tree:):)
Aggie has been WONDERFUL with the trees luckily but I don't want to jinx myself by saying that. He has chewed one of the presents though so we had to go buy another one. It was unwrapped though so I can understand a little...or maybe I'm just being super forgiving because it's Christmas time:):)
We went to Garden Ridge and Lowes on Saturday and bought all the stuff we needed to decorate the house. We're almost finished and when we are I'll take a picture of the whole thing to show you. Lets just say our house looks like one big candy cane!!!:) Chantz did an AWESOME job with the lights he got all the way on the second story which is very steep and I can honestly say it looks like a professional job!!!! Thanks for all your hard work babe, you did a wonderful job:)

Thanksgiving Day

Our Thanksgiving Break started on Wednesday when we got off early. Chantz got home around 2 which is when I left work. When we got home we played and cleaned up the house a little in preparation for the next day and then we went to Guadalajaras to eat dinner. I love this restaurant. They have the best mexican food!!! Dalton decided to try salsa out for the first time here tonight....
He LOVED it!!! I thought for sure he would've spit it out, but instead all he would do is dip the chip into the salsa and lick the salsa off and never even take a bite of the chip. He is so funny!!! Then we went home and Uncle Aaron and his girlfriend Lauren came over. They were trying to help us make Dalton's turkey hands.
Dalton did not want to cooperate for this very well.
He wanted to do everything himself and did not like when I tried to help him put the paint on his hands.
Oh look how thrilled he is to do this ha!!
They ended up coming out very cute though so it was well worth it.
Aaron THINKS Lauren is his girlfriend but really she is Dalton's. Dalton just loves her and everytime she comes around us he's always trying to steal her from Uncle Aaron.
He loves Uncle Aaron though too that's why he is giving him kisses on his back while he's sleeping:)
Then it was time to go take a bath and get a good night's rest for all the craziness that was going to happen in the morning. Mommy and Daddy stayed up very late tending to the turkey. The turkey unfortunately was so big that it wasn't thawed out all the way so we had to sit soaking it and gutting it that night. YUCK is all I can say. Thank goodness Chantz did all of the gutting because I almost threw up looking at it. Mommy was in panic mode because I thought it was all going to be destroyed but luckily my Uncle Robert said he would come over early in the morning to help me cook everything since it was my first year.
Dalton was so excited that when he woke up Uncle Rob was there to see him and spend time with him. Thank goodness he was there because he's such a great cook that all the food came out perfect and tasted wonderful!!! The turkey ended up looking beautiful and tasting amazing so it all worked out:)
While I was getting ready Dalton had to of course put his make up on too!!! Ha, Dalton I don't think the eye liner goes inside your ear silly;)
Then was time to just chill out and relax while everything was cooking and we were waiting for everyone to come over.
Dalton was making the funniest faces and putting his shoulders way up in the air posing for the camera:):):)
Uncle Aaron came over early to help us too or should I say help Chantz by sitting in the living room and both of them watching TV while I slaved over the oven.
Then was John John...He is so goofy he is rooting for Texas meanwhile he has his thumbs up ummm hello John John thumbs up is the Aggies symbol haha.
Then everyone else made their way to the house. We had a full house of 16 people there. We all had a great time and Dalton loved that he was the center of attention and everyone was there to love on him.
Dalton and his nana!!!
All the boys went to play football in the front waiting for the food to be finished.
And Dalton stood in the breakfast room watching them through the window:)It's a tradition for Papa to always cut the turkey so he did this year as well. He did such a good job. I still can't believe he got that much meat off of that thing.
Of course after eating we looked through the ads for the next day while the boys watched the football games. This year we didn't really see any great deals but we still ended up finding ourselves getting up early and going out to shop.
Gammy with her kids and grandkids.
We all just kind of chilled out and mingled. It was very very relaxing and a wonderful time spending time with everyone.
Dalton was the star of the show like usual. Everyone wanted to do everything with him.
He had a great time playing in the yard while everyone chitchatted, and it was such a beautiful day outside we all enjoyed the weather.
Everyone was fighting over Aaron because this was the first year he was with us for Thanksgiving since his parents split. He stayed at our house though and when it was dark outside we all did smores. Gammy, Tim, Uncle Aaron, Gigi, Paul, John John, Mommy and Daddy all made smores over the chiminea and it was a ton of fun. Tim and Paul had never had smores before which we couldn't believe and still shocks me so it was really funny watching them eat their first smores.
They didn't know what these were or why we were making them and it was cracking me up.
But you can tell by the smiles that they LOVED them!!!
Tim didn't really understand how to eat them hahaha but he still said they were really yummy!!! That stain on his pants cracks me up because he was trying to eat cake and my mom being so excited all the time went over and accidentally knocked the whole hershey bar cake on his pants.
We had to make sure that little Dalton was bundled up really warm because it was very cold outside at this pointHe LOVED eating all of the marshmellows haha. All he would do is come over and fill his mouth with them and then go run along and play and come back to refill his mouth when he ran out.
Then we all went back inside to warm up by the fire and watch the end of the cowboys game which thankfully they won. Then Dalton went to go spend the night with his Gigi and Paul and Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Aaron watched the Aggies and the Longhorns play. Poor Aggies they lost, but they really did play their hearts out!!! Chantz fell asleep during the game which was a first in his life but later I found out he had taken some nyquil and that is the reason that he was so sleepy ha. I knew there had to be something because he would NEVER fall asleep during that game.
More Thanksgiving weekend memories to come. This has been one of the best Thanksgivings we've ever had:)
