Thanksgiving Day

Our Thanksgiving Break started on Wednesday when we got off early. Chantz got home around 2 which is when I left work. When we got home we played and cleaned up the house a little in preparation for the next day and then we went to Guadalajaras to eat dinner. I love this restaurant. They have the best mexican food!!! Dalton decided to try salsa out for the first time here tonight....
He LOVED it!!! I thought for sure he would've spit it out, but instead all he would do is dip the chip into the salsa and lick the salsa off and never even take a bite of the chip. He is so funny!!! Then we went home and Uncle Aaron and his girlfriend Lauren came over. They were trying to help us make Dalton's turkey hands.
Dalton did not want to cooperate for this very well.
He wanted to do everything himself and did not like when I tried to help him put the paint on his hands.
Oh look how thrilled he is to do this ha!!
They ended up coming out very cute though so it was well worth it.
Aaron THINKS Lauren is his girlfriend but really she is Dalton's. Dalton just loves her and everytime she comes around us he's always trying to steal her from Uncle Aaron.
He loves Uncle Aaron though too that's why he is giving him kisses on his back while he's sleeping:)
Then it was time to go take a bath and get a good night's rest for all the craziness that was going to happen in the morning. Mommy and Daddy stayed up very late tending to the turkey. The turkey unfortunately was so big that it wasn't thawed out all the way so we had to sit soaking it and gutting it that night. YUCK is all I can say. Thank goodness Chantz did all of the gutting because I almost threw up looking at it. Mommy was in panic mode because I thought it was all going to be destroyed but luckily my Uncle Robert said he would come over early in the morning to help me cook everything since it was my first year.
Dalton was so excited that when he woke up Uncle Rob was there to see him and spend time with him. Thank goodness he was there because he's such a great cook that all the food came out perfect and tasted wonderful!!! The turkey ended up looking beautiful and tasting amazing so it all worked out:)
While I was getting ready Dalton had to of course put his make up on too!!! Ha, Dalton I don't think the eye liner goes inside your ear silly;)
Then was time to just chill out and relax while everything was cooking and we were waiting for everyone to come over.
Dalton was making the funniest faces and putting his shoulders way up in the air posing for the camera:):):)
Uncle Aaron came over early to help us too or should I say help Chantz by sitting in the living room and both of them watching TV while I slaved over the oven.
Then was John John...He is so goofy he is rooting for Texas meanwhile he has his thumbs up ummm hello John John thumbs up is the Aggies symbol haha.
Then everyone else made their way to the house. We had a full house of 16 people there. We all had a great time and Dalton loved that he was the center of attention and everyone was there to love on him.
Dalton and his nana!!!
All the boys went to play football in the front waiting for the food to be finished.
And Dalton stood in the breakfast room watching them through the window:)It's a tradition for Papa to always cut the turkey so he did this year as well. He did such a good job. I still can't believe he got that much meat off of that thing.
Of course after eating we looked through the ads for the next day while the boys watched the football games. This year we didn't really see any great deals but we still ended up finding ourselves getting up early and going out to shop.
Gammy with her kids and grandkids.
We all just kind of chilled out and mingled. It was very very relaxing and a wonderful time spending time with everyone.
Dalton was the star of the show like usual. Everyone wanted to do everything with him.
He had a great time playing in the yard while everyone chitchatted, and it was such a beautiful day outside we all enjoyed the weather.
Everyone was fighting over Aaron because this was the first year he was with us for Thanksgiving since his parents split. He stayed at our house though and when it was dark outside we all did smores. Gammy, Tim, Uncle Aaron, Gigi, Paul, John John, Mommy and Daddy all made smores over the chiminea and it was a ton of fun. Tim and Paul had never had smores before which we couldn't believe and still shocks me so it was really funny watching them eat their first smores.
They didn't know what these were or why we were making them and it was cracking me up.
But you can tell by the smiles that they LOVED them!!!
Tim didn't really understand how to eat them hahaha but he still said they were really yummy!!! That stain on his pants cracks me up because he was trying to eat cake and my mom being so excited all the time went over and accidentally knocked the whole hershey bar cake on his pants.
We had to make sure that little Dalton was bundled up really warm because it was very cold outside at this pointHe LOVED eating all of the marshmellows haha. All he would do is come over and fill his mouth with them and then go run along and play and come back to refill his mouth when he ran out.
Then we all went back inside to warm up by the fire and watch the end of the cowboys game which thankfully they won. Then Dalton went to go spend the night with his Gigi and Paul and Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Aaron watched the Aggies and the Longhorns play. Poor Aggies they lost, but they really did play their hearts out!!! Chantz fell asleep during the game which was a first in his life but later I found out he had taken some nyquil and that is the reason that he was so sleepy ha. I knew there had to be something because he would NEVER fall asleep during that game.
More Thanksgiving weekend memories to come. This has been one of the best Thanksgivings we've ever had:)

Just In Time for Thanksgiving

Well low and behold Dalton busted his lip last night. Chantz was cleaning all of the carpets getting the house ready for company to come over tomorrow and I was in the kitchen cleaning the appliances and all the dishes and getting everything organized and ready to go. I had the dishwasher opened and was washing something off in the sink and Chantz and Dalton were behind me Chantz was trying to get whatever Dalton had in his hands. Well Dalton didn't want to give it to him and when he went to run away slipped on some water and fell smack dab on his lip on the corner of the dishwasher. It is a HUGE gash and I was really scared we were going to have to take him to the er to get stiches but luckily we were able to get the bleeding to stop. His frosty bear which has a washcloth cover helped stop the bleeding and the swelling go down. It's still a little swollen and there's still a red line going down his lip but at least it is 100% better than last night. WONDERFUL, just in time for Thanksgiving when everyone is coming to see him. I swear as soon as he gets one of his booboos to go away boom here comes another one. Dalton PLEASE slow down and stop acting so silly and crazy and be careful!!! And just to think he's only 18 months old right now ugh I can't imagine when he's older I have a hunch the er is going to know us by name. Anyways I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!! I will be cooking my first turkey this year yikes, so wish me luck:)

Ride the Pony

Well Dalton is having the time of his life this week because school is out which means he's home with his Gammy instead of at the babysitters. Tim has moved down here and brought the horses into Sam Houston Racetrack. Every morning they have to go there to race them and have the jockey practice with them and then they bathe them and get them all ready for the day. Well Dalton got to participate in this event today and my mom called me to tell me he was having a ball. I could hear him laughing in the background and the horses making their silly noises. Dalton was sweeping out the stall while they were running (btw he loves to sweep!!!) and then he got to feed a pony. Last time Dalton was around horses he was only interested in their noses and sticking his hands up their nostrels but my mom said this time he was actually petting the horses correctly. Speaking of horses Dalton was acting as a jockey last night riding Aggie. Dalton can't even ride straight because he laughs so hard when we put him on there. We will call Aggie around the house and he's like a bucking bronco and Dalton just can't get enough of it. I got it on video last night and all you hear is Dalton cracking up. As soon as we would make him get off he would go hold onto Aggie's back and try to get on while he was doing his whine cry. It was so cute he didn't want to get off of him:0)

ATC 2009

This past weekend was ATC, annual training conference for the Army. It was a really special one since we knew it was going to be Chantz's last ATC to attend. Last year it was at The Woodlands Conference Resort which was very close to where we live however this year it was at Moody Gardens Hotel which was not so close. I took vacation Friday to make sure I made it down there in time for the company party. Let me just say that this year BLEW away last. This hotel was just beautiful and the ballrooms were just gorgeous. We had the best view out of our window facing the three pyramids and they looked so pretty all lit up at night. The festival of lights was going on which was really neat to see and I want to bring Dalton back next year to go do that I think it will be alot of fun. On Friday night is when they have the company party which is basically just baybrook company and it consists of like 5 or 6 stations. This year the company party was themed and the theme was 70s disco. It was a complete blast and everyone had so much fun with this.
Everyone in this picture is from Chantz's station however a few more are missing.
In the picture above are three more of the guys from Chantz's station and they were all dancing and having a ball. Sgt Lewis, Sgt Lopez and Sgt Williams are all out on the dance floor with Sgt. Turner's ugly pants creeping into the picture:) He won ugliest pants ever seen in the company that night ha.
I kept trying to get pictures of everyone who was dressed up because it was just hilarious and I couldn't believe how all out people went. I am so glad I bought a dress because at first I didn't want to dress up and I would have stuck out like a sore thumb if I didn't.
Sgt. Humphrey, Sgt. Turner and Chantz all acting crazy and being silly.
Chantz and I before going into the party.
Rachel and I taking pictures instead of paying attention to the awards being given out hahaha. We got made fun of all weekend for taking pictures everyone kept saying oh did you make sure you took a picture of the floor and this chair we're sitting on ha.
Sgt. Harris and his wife Toni.
Up at the front are three station commanders and then the company commander is the one all the way on the right.
This is Sgt. Sanders. Him Sgt Lowe and Sgt Humphrey all work out of the same station and they looked too funny all together with their long hair wigs. I couldn't get a picture of all three of them because my camera died:( After that we were starving and there was no food at the party so we all went to the strand. Rachel and I went to go find some food while Chantz, Sgt. Turner, Sgt. Hernandez, Sgt, Harris, Sgt. Lopez, Sgt. Williams, Sgt. Parada and their wives went to the club next door called Boomba. Rachel and I were laughing the whole time because there was a live band where we were eating and we couldn't even hear ourselves talking. When we were done we joined the group at Boomba and stayed there dancing and having fun for a while. It had been such a long time since we went out to a club we nearly passed out when we got back haha. The next day was the ball. I had such a good time relaxing and waking up myself rather than being hit in the face or kicked or jumped on by Aggie or Dalton. When I got up I enjoyed breakfast in bed and just laying around watching TV all day until around lunch time. Then Chantz was done with meetings so he went to go eat with Turner and Rachel and I went to go get our hair done. I was so excited to go to the ball this year. I wore a dress that my mom had bought for me years ago for a homecoming and at the last minute I changed my mind so she went and bought me another one. I never got a chance to wear this one so I wanted to let it actually have a night out ha. At least now my mom's money got some use out of it rather than just sitting in a closet forever. I was scared because I didn't know if a full length gown was too over done but this year it seemed more fomal than last and mostly everyone had full length gowns on so it all worked out.

This is Sgt. Humphrey, Chantz and Sgt. Lewis and how they look in real life haha instead of with all of their wigs on.
Sgt. Turner and Rachel and Chantz and I again how we all look in real life without wigs and crazy clothes haha.
And Sgt. Harris in real life who is Chantz's station commander and I can't even describe how big of a difference he has made in my husband's life. I wanted a picture of him and Chantz together since it was his last ATC. I can only hope that Sgt. Harris knows how much he means to Chantz and I know it's going to be hard for him because he's going to miss him so much. He tells me all the time it's not the army he's going to miss it's each and every person at his station he's going to miss. Thank you so much for everything you have done for Chantz Sgt. Harris!!! The next day we went to go get our little pumpkin who stayed with his grandma and grandpa!!! Chantz and I were racing on the high way to get there because we both missed him so much....he was so excited to see us he wouldn't let either of us out of his sight the whole night!!!

Family Photos

Thursday night we went to take our family pictures that we take every year right before Thanksgiving. Last year I was very disappointed when we took them at Sears. They did a horrible job and we only bought a few. This year however they came out awesome. Our appointment was at 7 but they were overbooked so we didn't go back until 7:30. Waiting the 30 minutes made Dalton more cranky than he would have been at 7 but they still came out very nice compared to last years. We went to Picture People where Dalton also got his one year pictures done and we loved those as well. They got an A+ for these and his birthday ones so I think we will be using them from now on:):) They had Santa there if you wanted to take pictures with him and Dalton wanted nothing to do with him. He was telling him bye and waving to him for him to leave it was priceless. Santa kept saying ok I guess I'll go away if you don't want me here haha poor Santa:(:( Hopefully Dalton warms up to him when we take him to sit on him at the mall this weekend!!! I can't put some of them on here because we bought some for our moms and I know you look at our blog Gammy and Gigi so you will have to wait to see yours til Christmas. Then I'll put the rest of them up here...
