2011 so far...

Well so far 2011 has been pretty crazy. We've been adjusting to chantz's new schedules at the police department which has definitely been a challenge on all of us but we're pushing through it. We got a chance to take some pregnancy pictures this time around which was really neat and I love the way they look in her nursery. I'll have to post the pictures on here when the link it working because right now it's not connecting to our session. On January 9th my best friend through me a baby shower for Keylee and it was such a blast. We made tutus, onesies, bloomers and played some fun games also. It is so amazing to see how truly blessed we are to have such loving and caring people in our lives and we are so thankful for all of them. Keylee got plenty of beautiful and thoughful gifts that I look forward to her getting to use in the next month. The weekend right after the shower I wanted to start rushing around to get everything I needed to set up her nursery and get that finished...well I guess I overdid myself becuase I went into premature labor that night. On Sunday January 16th my mom took me to the hospital and the nurses had to give me injections to stop the labor because Keylee is still not mature enough to come out just yet. The injections cause her heartrate to go way higher than the "safe zone" which was the most nerve racking thing I've ever been through in my life. Luckily the first two doses were enough to stop the contractions and my heartrate went to high that they couldn't give me the third dose and I pretty much didn't need it anyways so that worked out to help her heartrate not continue to rise. The next day my mom took me to the doctor and he put me on bed rest from then until the end of the pregnancy with absolutely no excersice except for getting up to use the restroom. I am not someone who likes to sit still and especially when I have a list of 100 things that need to be done before my baby gets here so this has been extremely hard for me to do but knowing that it will keep my daughter safe and allow her to continue to grow I am able to stick it out. My doctor did give me pills to stop contractions when they start and I have had to take those four days out of the past two weeks so I'm pretty sure once he takes me off the pills at 37 weeks she will be coming not too much longer after that just becuase the contractions are not stoping on their own. We have had great support from our families during this time to help me out with Dalton while chantz is working and if it wasn't for my grandmother, mother, mother in law, and Brittany, I'm not sure what we would do right now. They have all four been so much help with taking shifts and helping out with preparing the house for the baby to come in so many ways. I am just so thankful for all of them.

On another note Dalton has been having nightmares lately which is really scaring me. All of the sudden he thinks that there are monsters that are going to get him throughout different times during the day and he has to make sure he brings his gun to bed with us at night so that he can kill the monsters if they come to get us. I keep reassuring him that there are no monsters but he doesn't seem to believe me. I just hope this phase ends soon because it's very upsetting to me when he tells me " mommy I'm scared the monsters are going to get me".

On an exciting note, this year for chantz's birthday which was just a couple of days ago on January 25th, Dalton finally used the big boy potty!!!!! I had pretty much given up on trying to get him potty trained since he had no interest and would tell me he was not going to go on there constantly. It's like one day he just woke up and decided hey I want to go on the big boy potty now. so I hope this sticks out and that in the VERY VERY NEAR FUTURE he will be 100% potty trained with no more accidents. That would be nice with little Keylee coming soon so that we go back to just ONE being in diapers and not two.

May Overview

May was a busy month for us. We started by picking up Aggie from training and doing his "continuing education" classes on weekends. I had finals which ended the spring semester for me in college. Chantz got accepted to the Police Academy:) Our little pumpking turned 2!!! We got ready for Aggie's first birthday on June 6th and a whole lot more.....

I have more pictures to upload for May I just haven't found the cord still. These are the ones my sil took at his birthday party which was at Northshore Park this year. It was SO hot but SO much fun. This year was so exciting because he was actually able to pick out his theme all on his own and seeing his excitement when the party goods were coming in was just "a kodak moment". He picked Yo gabba gabba which by now in July has gotten on my last nerve haha because it's all he wants to watch. I was so thrilled when I found a special 2nd birthday theme with Gabba on it since he was turning 2!!! We got him a banner that is still in his playroom right now that has all of the gabba characters with his picture on it telling him happy birthday. He refuses to take it down and he STILL gets excited when he walks in there and says Gabba and Dalton and cracks up laughing. Speaking of his laughing the way he really laughs is so funny. When he thinks something is just outrageously funny he will throw his head back and put his hand to cover his mouth and laugh. When he laughs with his head like this it almost sounds like he's snorting so it's really funny. Back to his birthday party he had a great time. He had so much fun playing with his friends and feeding the ducks with them. This was the first year that we had a pinata at his party and at first he was shy and scared of it but as soon as he saw his cousin Kade hit it he wanted the bat and went running up there to whack the heck out of it. We had a two tiered red and yellow cake this year with some matching red cake balls and let me tell you the kids LOVED the cake balls. They couldn't get enough of them. You can see in some of the pictures he got the gabba shirt that matched his party theme and everytime I do the laundry if he sees it in the basket he'll say mommy put gabba shirt on and he'll start taking his shirt off. He is just too much now:):) He got a ton of clothes and toys for his birthday but the one thing he would not take off the entire day was his helmet that goes with his new motorcycle that Gigi and Paul got him. Despite the heat, we had a great time and Dalton was so pooped he crashed as soon as we put him in the car to go home.

This next picture is in preparation for Aggie's first birthday!!! This is a picture of him when we first picked him up. He was only 7 weeks and it's so crazy to me how fast he has grown over this first year. He is HUGE and isn't even fully grown yet. I think at his first year he weighed right around 80 pounds which means he still has 30 to go. He has brought so many funny and loving memories to our family. When you see the movie Marley and Me that really is how our life with him is. He is just like another baby all over again:):)
Right after Dalton's birthday party we took his two year photos. I was so pleased with how they came out this year:):) Looking back at his first year pictures to this year I just want to cry at how quickly it feels like the time has gone by:(

I ended the semester right after Dalton's birthday party which was wonderful. Right before finals we went through a pretty rough time because Dalton came down with pneumonia:( I basically blew through all of my sick time at work because I was out with him for almost two weeks. It was one of the scariest things I've ever been through in my life. When I first took him to the doctor I had to go alone because Chantz couldn't get off work and she told me it sounded like either something was stuck in his wind pipe and they would have to go surgically in and get it or that he is just really inflammed. I immediatly broke out in tears and felt like I was going to throw up. I wanted so bad for it to be me instead of him. Then we were told that we had to go get xrays to see what was actually in there and when we went to the xray room the lady pulled this clear tube standing upright with this wooden circle around it over to us. She told me I needed to strip him down to a diaper and we were going to put him inside this tube and hold his arms up over his head. As soon as she put him in there he started screaming and asking me mommy help mommy get me out and she told me I needed to stop comforting him and let him cry because it would make it easier for his lungs to show what was going on with them. Talk about the worst mother moment in history. My child was stuck in this tube that all I could see was his cheeks smooshed in the plastic and his little nose was sticking out of this hole so he could breathe and I had to hold his arms up in the air and not even comfort him when he was looking to me for help and comfort. I was SO upset. When we left I went and took him home and waited by my phone for the phone call. I felt like the minutes were hours until we got the results. Finally they told us he had pneumonia and they put him on two medicines for it. It was exhausting those next days trying to keep a two year old from running and getting overly excited. Plus on top of this I was trying to play catch up from being away from school on our cruise and get ready for finals. Five days after he first got sick was mothers day. At this point I had been around him for that long that I myself started to feel bad and so Chantz went and picked us up food at the restaurant we were going to go eat at for mothers day and we ate at home instead and spent the day resting and coloring together. It was a pretty neat mothers day because since we were sick we basically couldn't go out and focus on other things like we usually do instead we spent quality time together at home which was really awesome. Dalton ended up healing just in time to have a week of rest before his party which was nice because he was 100% by that time then. I hope I never have to go through something like that again it was the worst feeling in the world being a mom and not being able to do anything to help your child when they're asking you to.
One of the last things that happened in May was Chantz's new truck. I just knew that since I got a new car in January that the "I need a new truck" was coming. Well one day I get a phone call at work saying "the exact truck that I want is here and it's the only one that is made like this and someone is looking to buy it right now so I need to know right this second if I can have it or not otherwise they may buy it and then I'll have passed up on this great truck". Well what do you know that night Chantz came home with this "awesome amazing one of a kind truck":):) It's so funny because he always gets on me for "overexaggerating" when I say can I please have this I really need this it's the last one in this color or my size or whatever but then when I saw the truck I mean don't get me wrong it's beautiful but I'm pretty sure it's not the only one made in the world hahaha. So here it is his new truck (the only one in the world but they actually had a picture online of it hahaha)He is too much too:):)
It came with cloth but they threw in leather for him as part of the deal. Well he brings home all of these swatches of leather and him and I spent a whole night debating what we each thought would look good. The reason I have this picture is because I wanted it a different way but this is actually how he got it with the two toned the dark grey on the outside with light grey on the insides (I thought it would look better all light grey). I have to admit when he brought it home with the leather done it was gorgeous so he was right and he just ate it up when I said the words "wow you were right" hahaha.

April 2010 Memories

April was a super busy month for us just like all of the other months out of the year. We went on our honeymoon cruise that was LONG overdue and a lot of fun, celebrated Easter, celebrated some pre-birthday parties for Dalton, built our bed, had some silly fun shopping adventures, got sick, got Aggie trained, took Dalton to work day and much much more.....

Starting with the beginning of the month we celebrated Easter. Uncle Robert came down to Houston to celebrate the holiday weekend with us and brought cute little Ramsey with him. We had a special birthday party for Dalton at my mom's house that weekend so he could be there with Dalton for a little bit since he wasn't going to be able to make it back down when his actual party was. He got Dalton a baseball bat set that was just ADORABLE. Dalton just loved it and was a natural as soon as he got the bat in his hand. It has recently come to me that my child is OBSESSED with sports. He can tell you every single one of them by name and what you do in that sport like shoot, throw, kick whatever and he knows to say "goal, 2 points, touchdown, or homerun" depending on which one he's talking about too. Not in April but this past couple of weeks in June Chantz has been home with Dalton in prep for the police academy to start and now Dalton is old enough to where when I call to say hey what are you guys doing he says "I want talk mommy" and then when he talks to me he tells me "I play football" or "I play basketball" which is of course telling on Daddy because they are not supposed to be just playing all day on the xbox either football or basketball games hahaha. The other day when he said it I heard Chantz say shhh Dalton don't tell mommy that she'll want us to turn it off. Not that I don' tlike them spending time together I just think that it's not that healthy to sit in front of a tv and play video games all day. Anyways back to Dalton's birthday party he had a great time and of course loved that all the attention was on him, he got presents and got to eat the wonderful cake:):):) He's just like his mommy;)

Of course there's nana tagging along shoving food in Dalton's mouth the whole time hahaha like every other time.
Soon after he came in town we started construction on our HUGE masterpiece our new master bed. I got the plans from Anna and let me tell you these are some of best things I have ever came across. They are super easy directions and fully explained to where even someone like me who has never done a bit of carpentry work in her life can do them. I was so proud that I actually got the courage up to do this and the final product looks great. I don't have any completed pictures just yet because we're still working on the bedroom but they will come soon....You can tell how excited I was to do this project as I am in my heels and work clothes still while cutting wood for the bed. I didn't even eat barely while this was going on I would come home and run right into the garage I was so excited.

On actual Easter Sunday we got up and went to church. I wanted to stick around to let Dalton participate in the Easter egg hunt that they had but Chantz was being super bossy and rushing so we had to leave and go home to get our house prepped for our guests haha.
Dalton's Aunt Stevi and Uncle Brandon came over to spend Easter with us as well as his Gigi and Paul. We ate plain spaghetti because Aunt Stevi is pregnant and I didn't want to make something that had alot of spice or flavor and upset her baby in her stomach. We all watched the Blind Side together which is one of my favorite movies and we played with Dalton outside with his bubbles bubbles and more bubbles that he got in all of his five easter baskets.
It was so hot outside but we let Dalton do an easter egg hunt anyways in the backyard which was a ton of fun. Easter was great this year because he was actually able to eat the candy and go and grab all of the eggs and you could tell by looking at his face that he was enjoying it. Despite the heat, Easter was alot of fun this year and very relaxing besides the rushing home from church;)
And this little bug got COMPLETELY spoiled. He got a basket from my Aunt and Uncle, my mom, my other Uncle, Chantz's mom and Paul, Stevi and Brandon, us and the Easter Bunny, plus a whole wardrobe from Gigi:)

Please don't pay any mind to our horrifying backyard. We haven't had time at this point to go back there and get it all cleaned out but luckily while Chantz has been home in June he's been able to clean it out and get it to grow back and look beautiful again:):)

One week day in April I got a phone call from my babysitter saying that I needed to come pick up Dalton immediatly because her dad was being rushed to the emergency room. Well this was at about lunch time so I couldn't just leave for the day when I had a ton of stuff left to do so I got the bright idea to bring him to work with me after talking to my boss. He actually did awesome but we were having a meeting in the conference room which is directly across my office with all of our "head hanchos" and you can hear through these doors sort of even though mine was shut so I kept telling him shhh shhh don't talk so loud. But he really did do really good and everyone kept saying oh did you know you have a lump growing out of your hip because I was carrying him everywhere with me so it was pretty funny. We only stayed for a couple of hours but when I came in the next day I found all of my photos on my bookshelf messed up and my business cards all over the floor and on the chair in front of my desk and it made me want to just go and scoop him up. So it was nice to have him here and it's nice to see his little pen marks on the one corner of my desk he left to remind me of our times here:):)
I still have to upload some of the pics from the cruise and then I will be able to finish off the month of April and into May. Hopefully then I will be able to keep up more with our blog and memories....

Recap Of March

Well today I'm going to do a recap of March since I am coming close to the end of May and still haven't posted anything about March, April or May. In March we had a ton of fun. We went to the rodeo, we celebrated my birthday, we had spring break fun, did some home improvements and we had a great st patricks day.

For some reason this year it was still pretty cold in the beginning of March. We took Dalton to Chuck E Chesse one weekend when it was still chilly outside and he had a blast. We went with my mom, Aaron and her boyfriend. I used to think he loved this place when he was smaller but if that was loving it then I have no idea what to call now haha because it seems now he just can't get enough of it and would like to live there. He is all over that place wanting to do everything and wanting to do it all a thousand times a piece.

This was also Dalton's first year to the Rodeo. I didn't know how he was going to do but I had a hunch he was going to love it with all the animals at the livestock show. Well I was right but not about the animals Dalton loved all of the trucks and tractors that were there. I think we rode every "big truck" and "tactor" that was in there. One thing that was funny was this month was when we started doing alot of home remodeling and one of the things that we did to help start our bedroom was get a king bed. Well I built our bed so during the time that I was working on it our mattress stayed in our room on the floor in front of our queen bed. I would take Dalton and jump up and down with him and we would sing "I like to party, I like to party" over and over. Well he will tell me "party" when he wants to get up and jump on the mattress. When we were sitting in one of the trucks at the rodeo Dalton noticed that there were a TON of mattresses out for people to lay on and try out in the section next to us so what does he do almost dives out of the truck onto the floor and makes me go over there with him. So I put him on the mattress and told him here lay with mommy I'm tired of walking and he stands up and says "party party" and grabs my hands. I had to grab him and put him on the ground and explain to him that we don't party on other people's beds only our own and walked him to another area so he would forget about it. Dalton's favorite of all the animals this day was the baby chicks and the "orseys". He thought they were really cute and was trying to touch them through the glass as well and riding the "orseys" and not wanting to get down when his turn was over. As you can see in most of the pictures Dalton is wearing "beads" these were from the st patricks day parade that we went to this year and we always have to make sure that we bring some with us everywhere we go because he always wants to put them on. We took him to the carnival where he actually got to play a game himself where he held the fishing pole and caught a fishy. He won a light up sword and then Daddy won him a Florida Gators basketball. We got to sit in and see the new raptor Ford truck that they came out with which is really neat looking. It really does look like a dinosaur on some parts of the vehicle.

Also during the month of March alot of our weekend time went to home improvements with redoing all of our floors downstairs. We laid wood with tile in all the wet areas. You can see in this picture the wood quarter round that we used after installing the wood floors while Dalton is "driving home" with them from the store. I feel like we lived at home depot for like three weekends straight while we did the floors but it was definitely worth it in the end. I don't have any before and after pictures but by looking at other pictures throughout our blog you can see areas of what it looked like before and what it looks like now. I owe a HUGE thank you to my grandpa and my Uncle Ronnie. They both helped out a TON and we would never have been able to do it without them. I LOVE the way all of it turned out and even though it was alot of time, work and decisions I would do it again the same way if I had the chance.

This year for St Patricks Day we went to the St Patricks Day parade that they have in Houston. It was alot of fun and there were a ton of people there I just wish it wouldn't have been so hot. Like I said this year March was weird usually it's hot but it kept bouncing back and forth between hot and cold that you really didn't know how to dress so all of us had jeans on and we really felt like we were melting out there about half way through. There were a ton of floats in the parade and they were throwing a ton of beads to everyone. We found Aaron while we were there:) which was pretty funny. Him and Lauren had came with her parents and I was walking back from getting a garder with Destiny's mom and I was like who is that holding my son and he turned around and it was Aaron. Dalton was super happy to see his Uncle there and wanted to go sit with them and her family at her table which was cute. I finally got to meet her little sister Cameron who is just adorable. It was a lot of fun and Dalton got a ton of beads but by the end we were all just ready to get in the car and into the air condition.

Towards the end of March we had some Easter surprises that were alot of fun. While we were at the mall, Aaron, Lauren and I went to get Dalton's haircut and look for a bathing suit for my cruise when we saw the Easter Bunny. He was just walking around so Aaron ran Dalton over there to meet him. They gave Dalton some bunny glasses and a cute little hat but Dalton did not want ANYTHING to do with him. I suddenly realized this picture was going to be the closest thing I would have this year to him sitting on the Easter Bunny. At least I got one with him even close though:) We took him to the disney store after that and had some fun with the stuffed animals and dressing up Dalton in all the character clothes.

The other Easter Surprise we had was awesome!!! My best friend's mom has basically been like a second mom to me for half of my life. *Short memory for when I reread this when I'm older, Brittany and I have been friends since we were 11 and we always claimed that we were sisters and our mom was Shania Twain that we really didn't belong to EITHER of our moms they just found us in the hospital* But besides that fact both Brittany and her mom really are like family to me and I really do see her as the sister I never had and her mom as a second mom to me. Well she called me one day and said that she had some tickets to the Melting Pot that she wanted to give to me and Chantz to have a nice dinner out. She told me she was going to mail them to me but I never got them in the mailbox. Well one night Dalton and I were coming home from my moms house and it was late and really dark out and when I went to the front door I saw this HUGE easter basket near the front door. Don't laugh but mom walking with baby pitch black dark outside and noone inside got freaked out thinking someone left it there that when I would bend down to get it they would jump out of the bushes and grab me. So I quickly unlocked the door and ran inside with Dalton. That's when I went to look at my phone to call Chantz of course and tell him someone was probably watching us to leave work immediatly and I saw I had some missed calls from Brittany. So I went to look back at the basket knowing this would be something my second mom would do because she's one of the sweetest and most thoughtful ladies I know. Sure enough there was a little bag with a pink bow next to it and so I pulled both of them inside and opened the present and inside were the tickets to the Melting Pot along with a card wishing Dalton a Happy Easter. I called Brittany and her mom both right after to thank them and told both of them I could not even believe she drove all the way out to our house to bring Dalton that sweet present with all those goodies in it. The funny part that I was telling them was as soon as Dalton saw the basket he was jumping saying candy and went right for it to open it up and was so excited and I was frantically yelling get away from that it's fake and a trap just get in the house hahahaha. So when I finally brought it inside and let him have it he was THRILLED!!!!

Also during the month of March was my birthday. We celebrated with my family at my mom's house the actual day of my birthday and Chantz surprised me by coming home early and getting me my work bench that I wanted. I had no idea he was going to buy it for me because I had already gotten my new car and he got a navigation system put in it for me so I thought those two things were my birthday presents but I was so excited!!! That Friday we went to eat at Olive Garden with our friends The Trevinos and the boys had a ball after we finished eating. They were trying to play their version of tag and chase into one game around the two tables near us that were empty:) I only caught one picture of the two of them looking becuase it's very hard to take pictures of two toddlers both looking in the same direction both at the same time;)

Some crazy things that Dalton started doing in March were "nana booboo". Nana watched him ALOT this month and spent a ton of time with him. He always likes to show people his booboos if he falls or runs into something and has a scratch he will go around and show everybody his booboo. Well she came over one night to give him a bath and she was showing him omg you have a booboo so when he came to show me I said who gave you that booboo and he said nana because she's the one who showed him. I died laughing even though she did not think it was very funny. Now still to this day everytime that he has a booboo we'll ask him who gave that to you and he will always say nana and then he will tell us "nana pankin" for us to give her a spankin. It is the funniest thing and everyone thinks it is hilarious of course except for nana. She doesn't want people to think that she really gave him booboos but we all know nana would never even be able to actually put Dalton in time out let alone ever hurt him she just gets upset over nothing.

Another crazy kind of weird thing that Dalton did this month was when he went to stay the night with GiGi he called her Honey when they were playing. Honey is GiGi's mother who passed away many years ago and we have never even mentioned her to Dalton before. My mil said that when he called her that she almost died and said what did you say and he just went on about his business. Well we thought that was going to be the only time but then when we asked him who was going to come see him for Easter and we started saying Gigi....Paul....and he added Honey before we could say Stevi and Brandon. Chantz and I just kind of froze and looked at each other and we asked him do you know Honey and Dalton said "yeah" and went on and on but we couldn't really tell what he was saying. It wasn't scarey even though it may sound like it I mean it was definitely weird but at the same time it was almost comforting like to know that he knows about her without even ever meeting her. It was definitely strange and we'll see what happens in the future he hasn't spoken of her again since that day in the car so I'm not sure what made him bring her up or if we'll even ever know but I know that it's not uncommon for little kids to do this. Our friend's little boy was playing one day by himself in his room but they heard him talking to someone and when they asked him who it was that he was talking to he reached up and grabbed a photo of their cousin who had been gone for a couple of years and told them his exact name and they had never mentioned him to Jordan either. I also know my mom always tells me about a time when I was 19 months and I was born on my great grandfather's birthday and she says that I remind her of him 110% but he passed many years before I was born so I never got to know him. She said when I was 19 months they went to go visit his grave which is at a cemetary with about 2000 graves and as soon as she sat me down out of the car I took off running. I ran through the whole cemetary and when I finally stopped I pointed at a grave and said mommy who's that and it was my great grandfather's grave that I was pointing at.

March was a very busy month and we had a ton of fun and plenty of memories. Next will be April and then to May which is Dalton's birthday party!!!
