Dalton's New Words

So I always thought that Dalton's favorite fruits were watermelon and grapes. This was true until the day that Dalton had his first plum. A couple of weeks ago I was eating a plum and he was doing his little guinea pig sounds (ueh, ueh at a high pitched tone) and pointing at it which means he wants to have what you have. So I let him try to take a bite and surprisingly he raised his eyes and smiled. So I gave him the plum and he was holding it in his hand and eating it like such a big boy. I couldn't believe my eyes I thought he was just going to play with it thinking it was a ball but not take little bites out of it until he ate the whole plum.

He's growing so quickly every day he shocks me with something new. He's like a little sponge these days....he picked up the word "top" which is "stop". On Monday I was bringing him home from Laura's house and I reached back to tickle the bottom of his feet and he goes "top" so I did it again and he said it again and I looked at him and said "are you telling me to stop??" He just got this cute little grin on his face like duh mommy. He's been learning tons of new words. He knows how to say "I don't know" but he says it "uhoowoh" and he makes sure he puts his hands out appropriatley when he says this too;) A funny story of this is he was yelling Dad and Dada July 18th Morning and Chantz said "What" becuase he kept calling him and Dalton looked at him and goes "uhoowoh", ha! He's been learning eyes, nose and mouth this week at Laura's. Sometimes he will show you his nose when you ask him but other times he doesn't want to participate and just says "uhoowoh" and puts his hands up. He has also learning Aggie's Name but he calls him "addie". Last night for the first time he said "aggie". Good Job Dalton!!! We have been telling Aggie "bad dog" when he goes to bite something that is not his like Dalton's toys and so now Dalton says "bah duh" and looks at Aggie. It's really cute. Speaking of Aggie he is doing great!!! I don't want to jinkx myself by saying this but yesterday was his second day with NO ACCIDENTS IN THE HOUSE!!! We are so proud of him becuase he is only 7 weeks and we've only had him since last Friday so that's really quick learning for the little cutie. He found his new "spot" that he loves to sleep and chew his bone....Dalton's big Duck stuff animal!!!

He is such a joy having around and we are so glad we got him!!! Dalton absolutley adores him and gets more excited every day when he wakes up and sees Aggie there to greet him. I don't think his smile could get any bigger without it falling off his face:) He now squats down and pats the ground when we tell him to call Aggie!!! It's so adorable. Dalton does get upset though when we let Aggie outside and he does his business right away becuase then we like go immediatley back inside since it's so hot and Dalton of course would live outside if he could so he gets sad and cries when we go in. We have been crating Aggie during the night and then while we're at work during the day. The first couple of times that we put Aggie in his crate he would cry and bark becuase he didn't know what was going on and Dalton would get so upset. He would stand there and crouch down and look at him in the crate and try to open the door to get him out. He also tries to climb into the crate sometimes himself when we're putting Aggie in there:) Dalton's such a sweet boy and doesn't want him to feel lonely!!! Dalton luckily had no interest in Aggie's food but he does LOVE to dump his water bowl all over the floor and laugh after he does it. We can't wait for the weekend to hurry and get here so we can spend our time together the four of us!!! Dalton's new thing is to use our breakfast room table as a "fort" and as you can see Aggie won't let him do anything alone. They are two peas in a pod!!!

They even have to use the same exit as you can see even though it's very tough for them to both fit through it at the same time:)
