ClayTom's Wedding Meeting Family for the First Time

For the first official post of 2010 now haha. January 9th was a very special day. We got to go meet Chantz's real Dad and two sisters for the first time well Dalton and I at least. They live close to El Paso and Fort Davis I think which is way on the other side of Texas but they came to a wedding over in El Campo so we drove out there to spend the day with them.
It was Chantz's cousin Clayton Thomas who goes by Claytom that was getting married.
They had a beautiful wedding and reception. Both of Chantz's sisters were in the wedding party. Kolby the older one in the black jacket got to read one of the readings and Shelby the younger one in the silver dress got to help serve at the reception.
Dalton just loved Shelby. You can tell in the pictures he is saying "Shel" as he called her that whole night. Shelby cracked me up because she was serving the one cake that was red velvet. Well she was saving a piece for her because she likes red velvet and someone asked if they could have that piece.
Being a good hostess she gave it to them and had someone bring over this itty bitty piece of red velvet cake and they said the girl helping me serve said this is her table and she wanted me to leave this here she said it was her piece of cake. Their mom, Kolbyand I just started bursting out laughing because it seriously looked like a crumb with icing on it.
Dalton also loved his Aunt Kolby. These two girls were so sweet I can't even describe with words. Dalton of course was eating up all of the attention from his Grandpa and his two Aunts along with the rest of the family that was at the wedding.
It was so awesome to finally be able to meet them because I've been waiting for over two years now.
We all had such a good time and it really made me wish they lived closer. We got to meet Chantz's grandparents and Aunts, Uncles and cousins as well.
Shelby and Kolby's mom was so cute. She reminded me of the actress who plays the mom off of Step Brothers. I just loved talking with her and she is in the education system too which was really neat.
She was telling me about the schools out where they live and how all grades K-12 are at one school. Kolby told me her graduating class was like 20 kids and I almost fell out of my chair. With my graduating class being 800+ it was so hard for me to imagine what that would be like to only have 20 other kids at your graduation and prom and everything else.
Dalton was very good at the wedding considering it was pretty long and he needed to be sitting still and quiet. He made friends with one of the flower girls near the end in the "cry room". Her grandma and I were in there with the two of them and they were dancing and clapping together it was really cute.
The reception was really neat and I know I say that alot but I was always raised around the city and I never had anyone in my family that lived on land or had animals on their property or anything so when we go see Pops or Uncle Randy's or even where the church and reception were it is so different for me.
I never wanted to even think of living in the country but ever since I've been with Chantz I've been opened up to the whole other world where you don't have neighbors and there's peace and quiet and you enjoy the nature and livestock not the sounds of horns honking and city lights.
I have actually found that I like this alot more than I do the city life that I always thought I wanted. Dalton had such a great time dancing around with all of the little girls that were there at the reception. When they were doing pictures before cutting the cake Dalton ran over and tried to knock over the tripod and I almost died.
Luckily Shelby and Kolby are very quick and they were able to save him from knocking that over haha. We had a little rascal on our hands during the reception that night:):):)

We really hope to see Dalton's grandpa and Aunts soon because we loved spending time with them. Hopefully they can make it to his birthday when he turns 2!!! We love you and had a super fun time:):)

That's so great you were able to meet more of your hubby's family and that you had such a great time at the wedding. Dalton sounded so entertaining :) That's also nice that Chantz has opened you up to a way of life you never considered before. I grew up in a small country town where the average class size was 20 (so mine was "huge" with 60) but my mom is from Kansas City so most of my family is "big city." I like both so I live in the suburbs, haha!
