New Years Week

We had a wonderful New Years. We spent the day relaxing and cleaning for a fresh start in 2010 with clutter haha. That evening we went over to my Aunt Carol's house and ate some chicken wings and chips and dips and just had fun lighting some fireworks and watching football. Uncle Robert was there and so was Uncle's Ronnie's brother Michael with his wife Robin and their three kids.
Dalton had such a fun time playing with all of the kids. Since everyone was much older they were all poping firecrackers so Dalton stayed inside while they did those because he doesn't like them.
Right before the ball dropped in New York we went over to my Grandma's house because that's kind of been a tradition for me ever since I was small to go and see the ball drop at Nana's house. Nana and Papa and Uncle Robert watched with us while poor Ramsey Uncle Robert's dog was hiding in the closet from the fireworks.
Aggie did really well considering this was his first encounter with fireworks. We didn't have him yet on the fourth of july so we didn't know how he would do but he did amazing!!!
We had so much to be thankful for this year and some of our big highlights and memories for the year were.....closing on our house in February, Celebrating Dalton's first birthday in May, Celebrating my First Mothers Day, Adding Aggie to our family, Mommy going back to school to finish her degree, and celebrating all of our first holidays in our new home. Some of Dalton's accomplishments this year were walking, eating with silverware on his own, really talking, running, jumping, throwing, climbing, kicking, and so much more. It's so crazy to me to imagine how he was at the end of 2008 to the end of 2009. He was such a small baby at only 7 months and now he is my big boy toddler at 19 months. He has accomplished so much and I am so proud of him. Dalton you are one of the smartest little boys I know and it just awes me over and over at your will to learn and do everything you see and say everything you hear. We love you honey and look forward to another new year with you and all the many things we know you will learn in 2010.
After New Years it was hard for me to want to go back to work because I had stayed home with Dalton all that week prior to it. I had been home with him for a week and a half and it was soooo hard to leave him even though I know he loves playing at Miss Laura's house during the day.
We had fun making cinnamon rolls and this was Dalton's first time to eat them. From the pictures you can see he got the icing EVERYWHERE and wouldn't let go of the cinnamon rolls. At the end I asked him to give it to me so he shoved the whole thing in his mouth and his cheeks were sooo puffy haha.
We baked lots of things including, cake balls, cookies, oreo balls, cinnamon rolls, cakes, and biscuts. We had so much fun playing in the kitchen and Dalton really liked helping me cook every meal for that week.
He especially loved eating all of the DOUGH. I know I know you're not supposed to let your 19 month old eat raw cookie dough but I couldn't get it from him in time and then once he tasted it boom it was done. I had to hurry and make the cookies and put them in the oven before he could get them:)
We had so much fun playing with all of his new toys that he got for Christmas too. He is at the best age and I so wish I could be with him allday everyday. It is tons and tons of fun playing with him and listening to him tell me all about his toys and how they work and what he thinks of them:)
I had one of the best weeks of my life the last week in 2009 being home with him. It was such a great way to end the year.
I know 2010 has so much in store for our family and we are so excited to see how the year is going to unfold:):)

I bet Logan would like dough, too, haha!

Thank you for your comment on my post about Joe's dad.

That is so funny you mentioned the potty training because my plan is to order a book on it this week! We bought Logan a toddler toilet in August because he was already showing signs that he was interested (when I would say that I have to go potty he would run to the bathroom, open the top for me, then hand me toilet paper, flush the toilet, and put the seat back down). I was so happy because he caught on right away - he began sitting on his toilet whenever I sat on mine and went number #2 in it nearly every day for a month. But I couldn't ever get him to pee in it - especially when the shield for little boys hit him there accidentally - that did not make him happy as you can imagine! So unfortunately then he stopped going completely. I hadn't wanted to really start the process until after the holidays anyway and so we took November & December off. But now he's been showing signs again and so I figure since he turned 21 months yesterday I better start making it a priority. I will let you know if I can find a good book or learn of any good tips because it doesn't really sound like much fun. . .I hope it's not a hard long process!!! Let me know if you learn any great tips and we can help each other through this experience! :)
