Dallas Trip

Well the first weekend in December we headed our way to Dallas as it was snowing in Houston. Luckily the roads were great and we didn't hit any really bad weather because no one down here really knows how to drive in it. We went up there because Chantz was invited to play on a flag football team in the state championship game. Our hotel and gas were paid for and then Chantz got paid for playing so it was a nice way to get away for a little while and have some extra spending money for Christmas. Dalton loved jumping on the beds as you can see in the pictures.
But he didn't really like being cooped up in the room. I think he just gets chlostrophobic in hotel rooms because when we were in Florida for our Disney Trip he did great but we were in our timeshare which is the size of a small house but everytime since he's been born if we're in a hotel room he gets so fussy. He kept going to the door and saying buh bye and then he wold bring me his shoes. Saturday when daddy had to go play, Dalton and I packed up and drove to Fort Worth to see Uncle Robert. We were going to go to the zoo with him but since it was only 23 degrees there they said over 90% of the animals were up. Uncle Rob and I joked about so what are you going to do in Africa if they ever get a freeze hahaha go around and build a bunch of heated cages for them to go into?? After finding this out we took Dalton to Trinity Park to play with the ducks.
Dalton had a blast running through all the leaves and kicking his sponge bob ball around.
Him and Uncle Robert were running up that very big hill and I was very nervous at the bottom. I just kept seeing Dalton rolling down the hill in my mind but luckily that didn't happen:)
Dalton loved playing with the ducks he was telling them "wack wack" whenever they would start talking to him. He even said it in this funny raspy voice which was hilarious. We bought him a new lightning mcqueen beanie with the matching gloves and to my surprise he actually kept them on while we were out. Last year he wouldn't keep them on for anything so that was wonderful that he did this year. AND he was holding his little toy truck tube that had candy in it and would not let go of that thing no matter what. Luckily Daddy's team was out by the end of the first day so we were able to go and eat dinner with him at Outback and go shopping in the Galleria there in Dallas. It was decorated Beautiful and they had a christmas tree that reminded me so much of rockefeller center I kept imagining we were in New York!!! That next morning we ate a good breakfast and headed home. When we all woke up we were stuffed up and coughing really bad.
Our little angel was AMAZING in the car there and back which totally shocked me. Usually he has a fit but this time he was GREAT!!! That next day I took off with him because him and I were not any better and we went to go to the doctor.
And of course because Mommy is a softie and daddy wasn't there to tell her no Dalton got to open a christmas present.
I just felt so bad for him the poor little man couldn't breathe and was so miserable so I knew this would make him feel better.
Plus this is a doodle pro that is for the car and he got a bigger one for the house also for Christmas so I figured he could get this one opened already and start using it.
And that little one has so many presents under the tree and I don't want him to be overwhelmed Christmas morning so it couldn't hurt to let him open one ya know, ha!! But now the hard part is he thinks he can just go under the tree and pick out a present and open it...woops!!!

Of course Dalton and Logan have the same pajamas!!!! :) You can see two pics I posted of Logan in his Lightning McQueen pjs back in October: http://momwriterme.blogspot.com/2009/10/our-life-this-week.html

I'm glad you had a good time in Dallas! I hope you guys are feeling better now! I am really tempted to give Logan an early Christmas present too :)

Thanks for your comments today - that is so cool we have another similarity, both being daughters of police officers! And the flat screen, DVR, and Direct TV - as well as Logan's "mean face" haha! I am so impressed with Aveeno - Logan's eczema is almost gone already!!! Thanks for letting me know how you get Dalton to sleep in his big boy bed, I will let you know how it goes whenever we do that!

What a fun weekend! We were just in Dallas last weekend. That 4 hour drive is no fun though.
