Favorite Vacation Spot

Ok so this week kelly'skorner is hosting show us your life favorite vacation spot. It is so very hard to pick just one favorite vacation spot. Chantz and I did most of our traveling before we were together so unfortunatley we haven't been to each other's favorite vacation spot yet. Chantz's is definitley Australia. He went there with some of his friends in the Army several years ago and had a blast. I don't have any pictures of his vacation because my husband hates taking pictures and I was not on this vacation with them. I will post a picture though of where they were at.

I do have one funny story to share about his trip though that really makes me laugh everytime I hear it. My husband is one of those macho men that think they can handle anything and don't fear anything. Well while he was in Australia his friends wanted to go surfing. So my husband got his wet suit on and was rubbing that stick on his surf board when he noticed these balls floating on the water and he asked one of the locals what they were. They told him these were shark nets to keep the great whites out of the area that they were going to be surfing in. My husband stood up dropped his board took off his wet suit and he was done. Ha, that was his surfing experience. He asked the guy more about the shark nets later on and it's crazy he said that in order to make sure there are no holes or anything in the nets there is actually people who go down and check the nets daily. So my husband said "what a great job you get to go check the nets for holes and you see a big hole and you're like oh there's a hole here and you look up and the damn thing is right in front of you". Bottom line I have to BEG him to get into the water now at any beach that we go to. We are going to Florida in October to go to Disney World, however one day I want to go to Cocoa beach to visit my family that lives there and I want Chantz to go in the water with Dalton and I. We will see how lucky I get;)

Now for my favorite vacation spots...I absolutley LOVE Manhattan. I got to stay there in the Radio City Apartments right across from Radio City on Broadway for a week and a half in 2006. It was amazing. I love watching movies too where I can see the place I stayed and know I was standing there before. Corny, I know:) If I want to go on a shopping vacation this is definitley my favorite place to go. Duh, it's shopping central, ha!!!! While I was here for a week I went to the empire state building, Grand Central Station, central park, two broadway plays and most of the time SHOPPING!!!! It was my graduation trip and my Uncle took me for my graduation present. It was amazing and I had so much fun. In the middle of our vacation in the city we actually left on a cruise out of the city down to Bermuda, Tortola and St. Thomas. Tortola was my favorite probably because of the excursion that we went on. We went on a catamaran which anchored about 500 feet out from shore and we had to swim to shore of this little bity island that is right off of Tortola and get a tour inside the beautiful caves that were there. While I was swimming in this beautiful water I saw sting rays about 50 feet below me at one point and it was amazing to watch them. I did wear my coral fish bikini just in case there were any sharks out there I would blend in with the ocean and wouldn't get eaten, ha! I didn't wear my scuba flippers because I almost drowned last time I tried to wear those things in Grand Cayman (on my first cruise in 2002). The tour guide kept telling me "ma'am these really are necessary" and I told him "look do you want me to drown out there" He thought I was crazy, ha. They just weigh me down way to much and they don't help me swim any faster so I think they are a waste. While I was relaxing just laying in the water on the sand tanning I was jostled by two of my friends that came running up towards me yelling omg we just saw a baracuda. Their mom loves to go snorkling so they wanted to try it out and took their underwater camera to take pictures next to fish. Well Kristin was getting close to a fish to take a picture with it when her brother Ryan grabbed her a jerked her away. She got so mad and he was like are you an idiot that is a baracuda. So right after they start telling me this the tour guide yells everyone back to the boat it's time to go back. Knowing that this baracuda is out there swimming around just waiting to eat me I just kept my head above the water and swam as fast as I could. I didn't want to see if it was coming at me:):) I am still here though so it didn't eat me and I have no idea if I ever came near it while swimming, ha!!! Besides the crazy fish it was the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. And I have been to some pretty beaches, cozumel, key west, the virgin islands, and miami but this one was the best. The sand was white and fluffy and the water was crystal clear like a swimming pool. I would love to go back and this time with Chantz and Dalton but Chantz would probably just sit on the sand and watch, ha!!!

I'm going to post all my pictures of my graduation trip as soon as I get on the other computer that has them all. For now I'll just post some of the places themselves.

This is a picture of St. Thomas beaches which were beautiful too I just liked tortola better:)
This is Radio City, our apartment we stayed in was directly across from it.

This is the beautiful Tortola, see how white the sand is and the water is like a pool.

This is Broadway street the street that we stayed on basically the whole time while there. Our hotel (Radio City Apartments) was right off of this road, it's so pretty at nightime!!!!
This is the whole city of Manhattan at night with all the lights, absolutley beautiful.
And Last but not least this is Bermuda. While we were here it was rainy so I didn't like it to much. I'll have to go back when it's sunny and then I'll probably enjoy it!!!!
